Besides the piss poor goaltending and defence the Oilers offensive depth is also overrated imo. Kane, Hyman, and RNH only go as well as McDavid and Draisaitl do, and Hyman and RNH are nowhere near as dangerous offensively as last years career highs would have one believe. And after those 5 it’s an extreme drop-off in terms of offensive prowess up front.
Calgary I don’t know what their plan is. They want to remain competitive and re-sign all their guys yet they traded the one guy who could consistently put the puck in the back of the net. I get that they’re in a shite position due to the long term deals they handed out to Huberdeau, Kadri, and Weegar but Christ they seem directionless.

Edmonton fans are losing their shit right now, and I don't blame them! IMO they have to waive Connor Brown and gain some cap space for next year to eventually re-sign Draisaitl. But apparently Connor Brown's ex-agent is now in charge of the Oilers? Seems unlikely he'll get waived. What an absolute tire fire to start the year

Bruins dominated the whole game, Duck scored twice 6-5 with 2-min to go and an empty net (well once, Marchand got the other one).
Successful gamble on Anaheim's part more than proper choke-age.

I knew this was gonna happen when people started picking the Oilers as the SC favourites.
They're amazing without mcdavid I'm told though....
At this rate they can get another 1st overall pick to change their fortunes....
