I think a lot of Pens fans believe their team isn't that bad and are pinning everything on Sullivan. Fact is that next season Sid, Malkin and Letang are all one year older and they have no good young talent to surround them with.

Sid will be 37, Letang 37 and Malkin 38 as they begin next season. Karlsson will be 34.

Many think that some trades, FA signings and a new coach will make the Pens good again.

At some point the fans will have to transition from denial into the acceptance stage.

How many contracts are from Hextall?

Most have NTC/NMC clauses.

Karlsson is actually 3 years younger and expires before Letang.

Their fans got their rewards and now they pay the freight.

Not sure if there is a way to load balance their playing legends?

Looks like Steve Simmons is still hating on the Leafs:

"I have a list of nine teams that can win the Stanley Cup. The number goes to 10 if you include the Winnipeg Jets.

In my order, the Stanley Cup will be won by one of the Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes;, Dallas Stars,; Vancouver Canucks, Vegas, Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. Then Winnipeg. Then Tampa Bay. That’s 11. That puts the Leafs at No. 12 among Stanley Cup contenders.

And the reason I rank Tampa ahead of Toronto, despite the standings: They still have Andrei Vasilevskiy in goal, Victor Hedman on defence, big gamer Nikita Kucherov up front and Jon Cooper coaching. By comparison, the Leafs have I don’t know in goal, Morgan Rielly as their best defenceman, Auston Matthews up front (most playoff goals in a season, five) and Sheldon Keefe coaching."

Regardless of what decisions were made for the team this years they were always going to be heading towards an uphill battle at best.

Their core is in their absolute twilight of their careers. The best they will.be able to hope for is to scrape into the playoffs somehow and then get lucky. In about 2 years it's over one way or the other

What he's saying here doesn't seem that unreasonable. Simmons is a dick but he's not always wrong. I mean TB ahead of Toronto I don't agree with personally and the fact that he goes out of his way to justify it says that he himself understands that he's out on a bit of a limb. That said, I do understand his reasoning, you could argue it either way and I can't argue with the other 10 teams he has ahead of us.

Berube is going there? Their goalie will be flipped for a struggling goalie ala Devils-Sharks, and then throw a boat load of cash to Tanev hoping to sign?

It is interesting to see at least. Wild to say… but the Sabres might have a better future to navigate than the Senators.

From all the rumours it seems goalie market is going to be intersting in the off season

- Apparently Connor Hellebuyck wants out :dunno:
- Jacob Markström (Flames owner is a cheap moron and Markstrom has signigng bonuses starting next July 1st)
- Swayman or Ullmark I think one of them is gonna go
- Saros (if preds are gonna go the rebuild route he may be available)

Should be interesting

Yep and even then that 91 point mark has moved closer to 94 in recent years.

Pens finished with 91 points last season and missed the playoffs.

Pens are done. Sid looks checked out now.

Didn't they lose the freakin' hawks last season in the last game and miss the playoffs which allowed panthers to get in on the wildcard spot

and they are already down 2-0 to the oilers LMAO

Who cares. Must be nice to make a living with opinions on hockey. Less of reading garbage like this is good for you.

I follow the Stars a little, being in the area. They might have the easiest March schedule in the history of the NHL. SJ three times, Ari twice, Anahaim...

Would not put them 4th.

Yup Crosby is pissed. He just wrestled Kulak to the ice WWE style in a headlock after line scrum

Crosby is used to winning. He has pride
This is not how he wants to go down. Especially against another star

Unlike our superstar, Crosby wants to compete against McDavid. He doesn't like losing

Also. I never want to hear Matthews is any where close to McDavid. Even if Matthew scores 70 goals

McJesus is on a different level man.

McDavid already has 950+ career points (added 3 more today for 953). If he didn't injure his collarbone I think he would have gotten to 1000 points this season

Freakin' unreal talent.

Matthews is nowhere close to McDavid except perhaps the cap% and signing bonuses

Sorry to intrude, but I had to come and ask. Are you guys enjoying Dubas' failures in Pitts? or were you cheering him on?

I personally hate what dubas did to the Leafs and never took any responsibility. not even an ounce. He has a dedicated fanbase and their continuous support for dubas no matter how much he screwed the leafs pissed me off.

So yea.... As far as I am concerned. I am enjoying dubas' failure and wish him the worst in his professional career (not personal life btw) for what he did to the Leafs. Can't speak to the Leafs fanbase as a whole though and definitely don't speak for the vocal minority that is the unconditional dubas diehards
