Probably decent but he's on LTIR now and isn't he going right back to the Pens in the offseason?

I think he's probably going to be looking for like 8-9 million on his next deal. Can the Pens afford that (I haven't looked too closely at their cap situation next year)?

I hate to say it, but I don't think anybody in the West can stand up to this determined Oilers team.
They're not the mess they used to be after picking up Hyman, Kane, and Ekholm, and changing coaches, but a healthy Avs or Knights sends them home. Dallas in 7.

McDavid is an alien though so I wouldn't wager on it. Think he had a third or more of their shots tonight.

To protect Holl, what a moron……
McMann had done nothing and was on his 4th team by the time he got here.

He exploded when he got to Seattle and started playing 1st line mins and PP.

It was a miss, but a miss by a lot of GM's. Not just Dubas

Wait what?! Almost 5 mil a year for sandin??? Has he been that good?

5 years 3.5 - 4 mil max tho. I say. But who knows that they do with him.

Lily’s production hasn’t been far off from Sandin (0.31 PPG vs 0.39) and Sandin is a noted offensive d-man. Lily I believe has had better defensive results but with less ATOI this season.

$4.6 is too rich for me but but your range is good. $4x5 would be acceptable, but $3.5 would be quite excellent.

People here would lose their shit of we signed Sandin for 4.6 mil tho lol
Some teams are able to take a chance on a signing like this. The Leafs, in its current structure, couldn't. But for a team like Washington which is thirsting for young talent, there's minimal downside signing this 23-year old with respectable upside, even if they overpaid him by $500K to $1M per year.

A good way to look at it is: 30 other GMs valued him less than a depth prospect and a 7th round pick. Pittsburgh GM valued him less than Teddy Blueger.
