I have no doubt Alcohol was involved.
It just seems that if that's all it was it would have came out to stop all that other speculation.

My initial suspicions were correct, definitely felt it was alcohol related though I thought he was plastered at practice not a team event. Seems like he either said something or did something. Either way unfortunate. I do however think he probably gets another contract lol.

I'm sure the alcohol was simply the catalyst for the actual infraction. Twenty-something years ago I was at a law firm event that was being held in celebration of the merger of two very prominent law firms. At the event, the most senior partner of one of the firms did some inappropriate things to one of the young female lawyers of the other firm. Despite being the most senior partner, he was kicked out of the firm immediately. Sometimes you just need to bring the hammer down to set an example for the rest of the place.

Yeah, they're kind of missing part of this. "Got drunk at a team function" isn't good enough to eat his contract. "Got drunk and did (something stupid) at a team function" might, depending on what it was. He walk ouit nude or something like that? Or maybe started throwing out slurs?

Zadorov is a 4-6 D on a normal depth chart. It's not a big deal that we didn't get him. Aim higher. We can't acquire everyone just because they're available.

I'm a bit surprised that CGY would let Zadorov remain within the division for that price at this time.

I definitely don't view him as a difference maker. That said, I suppose VAN isn't exactly much of an impediment to CGY's potential of gaining a playoff spot at the moment either. I just assumed that trade talks might have been more on the back burner for now. Apparently not!

Leafs should aim higher, they have enough 5/6 defensemen. Sure he's probably a second pair guy on the current depth chart but save those two picks for a deal to get a better player.

If they get two players better than Zadorov (not unreasonable) and start to get healthy then you spent a 3rd and 5th for someone sitting in the Press Box or rotating in as the #6.
