Any update from the Chicago press conference?

It doesn’t sound like it’s hazing. Kyle said none of the other players are aware of it and were only made aware today.

It’s hard to know. I’m thinking this was a Perry and staffer interaction or a behaviour misconduct. I don’t want to speculate on what it can be. But it doesn’t sound like he did anything to another player.

I think he was struggling because it sounds like there may be some regret of not just coming out with this information. Bedard had to listen and read for the last 3 days that a teammate may have banged his mom. He’s 18 years old. That’s on the organization and leadership for not putting a stop to that rumour immediately.

Haha yes that’s two I was thinking. When I first saw the story, I immediately assumed a homophobic slurred was used. Given the organizational sensitivity to that topic, I assumed there was a no nonsense policy and that’s why they terminated. But only time will tell.

Right away? Probably because they were investigating and doing their due process. They did deny all those dumb rumours today when everything was gathered and they went ahead with his contract termination.

We don't know what he did. It was a "work place matter" incident that lead to it. That could be a lot of things, but I don't think it was a simple missed practice or meeting.

They should had reacted to those rumors earlier and whoever started it either just did an epic/Hall of Fame Troll job or actually knew it happened.

It’s so puzzling and… what a remarkably irregular press conference. That guy was definitely not the guy to be giving out this news the way he handled that.

Could be anything from what other posters have mentioned, inappropriate comments, or actions, but not quite criminal towards staffers or something like that… My guess is dick pics … But not sure if that doesn’t get reported to the police or not.

It’s almost as if they want more drama around the team! Very confounding.

Hilarious rumourmongering aside I am very curious as to what the hell happened here.

If it was anything else, the Blackhawks should be leaking exactly what happened like right now, otherwise this is going to follow Bedard around for a long, long time.

Okay, let's pretend for a second there is actually an ounce of truth to this. Why should Perry bear the complete brunt of such actions? There are two parties involved, and if the other party was also a willing participant (as opposed to being pressured in an aggressive manner), it says just as much about them being a shitty person than it does solely the player.

It would be interesting to see how NHLPA reacts to this situation.

If that's all it is then what they're doing might just be an organization doing a bit much to try and fix their damaged reputation from the Kyle Beach stuff. A termination because of someone being way too drunk won't make that Beach stuff go away especially since we saw this happen last year with Nischuskin but he did it during the playoffs. Has to be a bit more serious.
