Okay, let's pretend for a second there is actually an ounce of truth to this. Why should Perry bear the complete brunt of such actions? There are two parties involved, and if the other party was also a willing participant (as opposed to being pressured in an aggressive manner), it says just as much about them being a shitty person than it does solely the player.

Because in Western society today we still have an overwhelming sentiment of "women are always innocent" that pervades everything like this.

Keep in mind as well that Chicago's ownership and management is presumably very sensitive about any further bad press, so it may be that they have been given advice by their external counsel to take this step where other teams, who don't have the same history, may not have done so.

You're probably right, hazing is most likely, Perry probably did the exact same thing on other teams and got away with it, but none of them had a Connor Bedard.

Given the Hawks history they wouldn't cover up anything that could be considered illegal.

The Bedard mom thing is one of the absolute last things I would actually believe.
