Could be a lot of things, but I think it was just need, they had set their caps with Suzuki and Kotkaniemi and ran Danault (who wasnt happy there) on the 3rd line. They needed a power forward at wing and I guess Anderson fit the bill

Nice pickup by the Jackets...and they got a 3rd rounder to boot.
He'll slot solid behind Dubois , and shoud boost their 2nd line with Nyquist and Aktinson

I dont think Domi was all too happy coming to the bubble, keeping in mind his health concerns, and not playing the minutes he was accustomed to. Think he had enough Julien.

He could do very well under Torts. Interested to see how it turns out for him.

Turris bought out by Nashville. $2 million per year is an ouch so let's see for how lo...

lolllll lotta teams gonna have to lay in the beds they made.

Can't wait to see what TBL does with those NTCs.

Are they even gonna get to the cap floor?

They can if Melnyk can find some sort of magic loophole where the team can sign players to contracts where the cap hit amount is inflated, but the actual amount of the contract to pay is way less without anyone giving any investigation on how the accounting side of thing works there.

I bet a lot of owners are looking for that magic loophole right now and would love to take that without getting caught.

This isn't nearly as much of an issue thanks to Olli Määttä, but I wonder if expansion rules will be modified in-terms of games played if the season is less than 82 games.

I know that's Walsh just doing what he does, but is that then a slap in the face to any 7th rounders? To all those least wanted selections, I'm sorry you actually did get drafted.

No.

It's hard to get drafted and harder to make the NHL. I'm sure some players who have been playing since they were 3 years old are crushed they weren't picked. It's important to know it's not the end of the world and they can still salvage a career. It just takes more time.

And there are 30 players each round who get drafted. The pool of undrafted is significantly larger, and older, so it's not exactly groundbreaking.

Did that 20-year old winger from Russia the were touting on the draft show get picked? Sorry, I don't recall his name.

I don't like Walsh's Twitter antics, but I think this post is innocuous. I think we see it every year with the NFL Draft where it's arguably better to be an undrafted free agent who might get to choose between a handful of camp invitations rather than be a 7th round pick. And getting undrafted sometimes can motivate guys, somebody like Sean Durzi sat through the entire 2017 Draft and decided to make some changes off the ice to improve; A year later he's a 2nd round pick.

There's one poster on the main board who posts every year how the NHL should make the draft 9+ rounds again. He seems to think a player would rather be an 8th round pick rather than possibly have his choice of teams a few years down the road.

Yeah, the pool of undrafted is somewhere around 7.5 billion.
