I don’t care that they’ve made the cross check call more strict. That cross check shouldn’t be a penalty. I guess if you’re going to call pedestrian infractions, might as well keep it going and toss out the embellishment while you’re at it.

If you watch the replay you can see Marchment take a look behind him a second before the crosscheck. He knew the hit was coming, skated back into the hit, and went down like a ton of bricks. It's absolutely a crosscheck, but it's also an embellishment. I've done this exact play in a rec league. He knew what he was doing.
