Gudas belongs in the Iconic.

I know the Red Wings have a nice crop of young players and some promising blue liners in the system but their d for next year looks... oh boy:

Chariot-Seider
Wallman-Holl
Maatta-Ghost
Lindstrom

Yzerman commits $18 mill this offseason to Holl, Ghost, Kostin, Compher, and Reimer

It's a lot tougher being a gm when you're in a state with income tax and bad weather. You're not gunna have your players or external ones lining up to sign for a discount.

Stevie been having a bit of a rough go with the red wings. Golden boy status no more.

- A career loser who was a foundational member of a leadership core that blew 2 3-0 leads in 4 years (2011 vs DET, 2014 vs LA). They ended up winning game 7 against Detroit, but only 9 teams have ever forced game 7 after down 3-0 in the NHL. How the heck did SJ allow it to happen twice in 4 years. Surprise surprise, our core knows something about blowing leads as well and struggles to close series out
- He chases money and has his entire career. As a person I can't blame him for that as it's his right, but building a team he is not who I want mentoring the core. He never signed for more than 4 years and continuously went to the well for more. Hell, the reason we got Marleau in the first place is we offered an extra year at 6 million and that caused him to uproot his entire family and life (A reddit comment expanded on this very well, forget who it was tho). Surprise surprise, our core is now known for being the group who fights for every $$ and never wants max term

A lot of the flaws people find in this core are the same things we saw in the likes of Thornton and Marleau
Astute insight many here (including me) never thought of. Your right....they were mentored in off ice tactics. Not in winning as those 2 never won a thing!

I’ve never felt in a team dynamic that one player could have that much influence.
One rotten apple in s bushel of healthy ones will eventually rot them all...nothing new. All it takes is 1....and he was their mentor had them live with him..
They were inseparable. Why the big surprise?

These are people not fruit. :help:

There is zero reason to believe your view is true.

You're entitled to your opinion which, I dont share...the results are the proof. The guy made very valid & insightful comments.

Not sure if you’re being serious or not.
Something imagined isn’t proof, it’s fantasy. Just another way to deflect the blame from where it should be assigned.

So a guy who played 20 years in the league with a good reputation is brought in by a guy who’s been in the league for 50 years and would know very well the player he brought in, now suddenly becomes this rotten apple?

Brodie and Robertson names out there apparently

So Brodie being dangled possibly to save on cap and maybe get a cheaper option is a guess.

Also Robertson going with Murray for some team to take that on which would be unfortunate because I still think he could end up being pretty good.

He says that Matthews isn't signing before Nylander most likely.

Feels like some things will be dragging out unless there is a trade... which could also be a while for that to happen too.
