He was actually never highly touted to be honest. In his draft year he was projected to go somewhere between 20 - 27. He had a solid playoff that year and jacked up his position

He was always goign to be a mid tier player and proved to be just that. Also he played for the Habs, that automatically puts you in a god tier. (see Galyenchuk)

I'm actually quite fine with the way things have gone thus far. Some of these deals are ridiculous, and am glad the Leafs are tying up their limited cap space to them. And the players lost I think can be replaceable with a similar player. I'm not overly lamenting anyone's loss, and moreso celebrating those not coming back (Kerfoot and Holl in particular).

The only acquisition I wish the Leafs had out of all that mass of humanity is Rielly Smith. That guy has been underappreciated for his entire career.
