Panthers dont make JQ available to the media post game lol. What a joke.
The fact that the only discipline that has happened so far is a slap on the wrist $2million fine is already a huge stain on the entire NHL, and only getting worse as time goes on. Let's see if Bettman is his usual cowardly self tomorrow or actually takes proper measures.

Also this is peculiar timing given the hype Florida has heading into their year and the start to their season… are they going to take a soft approach and Coach Q keeps his job?

Bettman needs to step up the discipline

Toews’ and Kane have lost any respect I’ve had for them after their comments

I think Duncan Keith’s was worse for me. Because Keith was a legitimate leader on the team. He should have done more. Kane is just flat out lying in his comments. They knew.

Me too. Toews was one of my fav players

what did you realistically expect him to do? Run to the police himself? Kick the video coach in the nuts? How many black aces get to really be around the star players? Additionally according to the report, the only person who knew the full details prior to it going to management was the performance coach. The skills coach only got a condensed version. So it's not out of question that the players didn't know the full scope of what had happened. Maybe they knew something had happened. We don't know which players were the ones who were making comments towards Beach. Toews and Kane could be completely innocent of that. It is sad all around, but I'm not sure what people are expecting the players to do. Coach Q, John McDonough, Stan Bowman are completely at fault here just a blatant disregard for Beach's safety and they had the power to actually do something immediately, not the players.

Complete BS post.

Beach, however, recalls a far different story, saying that teammates would berate him with homophobic slurs and taunts at practice that referenced his abuse.
“I believe everyone in that locker room knew about it”, he said.

Let's be frank here, this isn't a good look at any level for Hockey. Not for US Hockey, the NHL, nor the sport/game as a whole. All levels needs to take a hard look at themselves. Bettman should be canned, Quenneville and Chevaldayoff should be removed from the NHL, and I wouldn't be opposed to players involved with this incident being suspended as well. A message should be sent out... and you know what, a message is being sent out... it's pretty clear that Hockey/US Hockey/NHL don't care about their players, player safety or "inclusion"... they care about an image, making money, and avoiding liabilities... this crap is just words from them, not meaningful action.

I never denied they knew. But we don’t know who made the comments. You take one piece of information and run with it. He never mentions Toews or Kane by name. Also that is Beach’s interpretation that everyone knew the full details. It doesn’t make it FACT. But even in his own interview he did not tell any teammates. Only the coaches, so there is no way to actually know who knew the full story, who knew the the shorten and who was spreading the bullshit rumour that he was gay.

the players do have a responsibility to make the environment positive, so from that standpoint they could have and should have stopped the bullying. But I’m not sure what people want them to do about the case in general, that’s a management issue that they should have addressed.

Yeah, it's just complete bull shit lip service.

If this is all that comes from this, meaningless fines, it's nothing. If you could talk to any one of those players/coaches/management/owners/etc off the record and get a truthful answer, and ask them what they would do differently if they could go back they would all say "nothing". It was worth it, we won a cup, fame, glory, money and we'll go down in history as champions and this will be forgotten. a 2 million dollar fine is just a tiny fraction of what they made off of the cup win.

#1 needs to be take away the cup win, strip the team/player/organization from the books. There is no cup winner for that season
#2 needs to be lifetime bans for management and anyone involved with the cover up(Q, Bowman, etc.)
#3 major suspension or even bans for players involved in harassing Beach (I know there aren't many guys left but still)

Brent Sopel: 2010 Blackhawks Players Discussed Alleged Sexual Assault

They all knew. It's a Captain's responsibility to take care of their players. It's the NHL PA player reps responsibility, probably legally, to represent and protect the players on the team, including from management. All failed in their duties.

The more I think, the more I agree. Didn’t Bowman basically say they were focused on winning the cup and let this slide away? I mean the fact that they prioritized winning the cup over doing the right thing, or at least taking it seriously, shows me that they should be allowed to keep the cup

Have you read the report and watch the interview?
The inactions from the players in 2010 is one thing, bc pretty sure the coaches and MGT told them they will take care about it.
However, to come out now and say they don’t know anything about it till later sounds like a lie.
Pretty sure when Beach told Vincent about it, Vincent asked other players if they are victims or heard anything like any coaches would do in this situation.
They definitely knew something was wrong and not right at that time. I don’t know why can’t they just say that.
Even if they really didn’t know, why are they still saying Bowman and others are good people and just made a bad decision. You cannot defend their actions or inactions at this point.

To me, I am not sure taking away the Cup in 2010 is a good idea, but definitely Aldrich name should be taken out.
Q and Chevy need to go and I still have no clue why Q was behind the bench last night and really glad Bruins fans started the fire Q or Q must go chant.
Hawks should be fine a lot more than 2mil, plus NHLPA, USHL and NHL should also be look at for not doing investigations when Beach filed the complaint months ago.

I’ll answer your last sentence first. They have spent the better of 10 years with Stan Bowman, so of course they think he is a good person. He has done a lot for them, so their memories of him are positive. It’s not as black or white for them compared to the rest of us who have no personal connection to Stan Bowman. You can disagree with the choices someone makes but still care for them as a person. However, This is a huge blemish on him and he should be held accountable. He did something wrong and it wasn’t a simple mistake. It was negligence.

The players should be held accountable if they contributed to the bullying and any inappropriate words. But it’s not their duty to report that’s management (legally). It is plausible that some players did not hear or didn’t know (like Toews claims) until the following season/training camp. Usually black aces/scratches do not skate with the main group.

not justifying it but just giving a reason as to why they completely denied it (which is embarrassing ). It’s simple, legal implications. In Ontario there is an apology act, you can apologize without that being used against you in court or law. That does not exist in the states
