I think everyone would have enjoyed the past 2 weeks a little more if they punched down harder on Ottawa, Montreal and San Jose.

I mean what I said is not a reflection of what I think of the Leafs. I just don't think people should be crowning the Oilers after 5 games against garbage opponents. We have our own thing going on here.

Colorado, Vegas, Tampa, and Vegas have all struggled. It is far too early to panic and draw too many conclusions. That is the way this board and others typically work, however.

After the playoff failures the Leafs have had (and last year's collapse) there should be grave concern about the slow start of the group. Odds are they will be fine and start wining again, but there are signs of mental fragility in the core and it seems broken.

Everyone shares the blame for their failure so far but the core players should burden the heaviest of it. When the chips have been down, they have failed to deliver.
