They'll need to get him healthy and playing to max out his value.

The relationship seems so sour between the sides I really can't see him playing for the Sabres again.

Suspect to get better value the team is going to have to put conditions on assets in the trade - ie based on his post surgery point production or games played.

He's already in mid season form
Tyson f***ing barrie and Cody Ceci manning the Oilers right side

Things are going to be pretty hectic in their own zone.

Barrie the man whose never met a puck worth digging/fighting for

And Ceci the man who hasn't met a puck worthy of being held onto rather than tossed away like a grenade

Both aren't the worst of players, just they will be playing under a heavy microscope with McDavid needing to form somewhat of a playoff legacy in the next 3-4 years of his prime and needing playoffs runs/cup

Edmonton will be almost has heavily watched/analyzed by the media as Toronto as they should be next year

Everyone ready for Hyman to be a superstar 70pt 2 way power forward lol according to many Oiler posters he is going to absolutely destroy the league.

Wouldn't surprise me, but because of that he's got to get 56 points and we're still going to be told how dominant he is from "intangibles".

Love the dude, but I'm glad we didn't give him that contract, not like we could afford it anyways.

Who do you guys have for the top 5 players in line for rookie of the year this year?

1) Bouchard - Probably a surprise for most, but he is my favourite in a weak Calder year. 1) He has opportunity; EDM's defense is a mess, so he could realistically end up being in their top 4 this year. 2) Weak ass division with a team that has McDavid and Draisaitl on it. 3) He likely gets PP time with said McDavid and Draisaitl on it, even though Nurse and Barrie will also be defensemen on there.
2) Knight - He could end up being Florida's starter, and if that happens and Florida ends up making the playoffs, Knight will likely play a big part in that.
T- 3) Zegras/Drysdale - Poor division + Plenty of opportunity + Weak Calder year gives them a great chance.
5) Podkolzin - Same as Zegras/Drysdale, but he gets to play with better players and may get fewer opportunities.

HMs
Byfield - Not sure how much he will play next year, but if he does, he could be up there with Zegras.
Liljegren - If he gets to play PP and on a pairing with Muzzin... Anything is possible. He is more than good enough if he puts things together.
Seider - Detroit sucks in a good division, but he could realistically end up being their #1 by the end of this year. I don't think it will be enough for him to win, but he could have a solid year overall.

No Caufield because I find it hard to see him standing out on that Habs team when he is consistently going up against Toronto, Florida, Tampa, Boston, and Ottawa, but a bunch of other guys could be on this list.

Exactly how I feel. I would however add Newhook to that list, I think he will be fantastic (sadly for the Avs who already have an embarrassment of riches)
