1) Bouchard - Probably a surprise for most, but he is my favourite in a weak Calder year. 1) He has opportunity; EDM's defense is a mess, so he could realistically end up being in their top 4 this year. 2) Weak ass division with a team that has McDavid and Draisaitl on it. 3) He likely gets PP time with said McDavid and Draisaitl on it, even though Nurse and Barrie will also be defensemen on there.
2) Knight - He could end up being Florida's starter, and if that happens and Florida ends up making the playoffs, Knight will likely play a big part in that.
T- 3) Zegras/Drysdale - Poor division + Plenty of opportunity + Weak Calder year gives them a great chance.
5) Podkolzin - Same as Zegras/Drysdale, but he gets to play with better players and may get fewer opportunities.
HMs
Byfield - Not sure how much he will play next year, but if he does, he could be up there with Zegras.
Liljegren - If he gets to play PP and on a pairing with Muzzin... Anything is possible. He is more than good enough if he puts things together.
Seider - Detroit sucks in a good division, but he could realistically end up being their #1 by the end of this year. I don't think it will be enough for him to win, but he could have a solid year overall.
No Caufield because I find it hard to see him standing out on that Habs team when he is consistently going up against Toronto, Florida, Tampa, Boston, and Ottawa, but a bunch of other guys could be on this list.
