lol, the Leafcopium is real.

I don't mind the team itself, but damn if Leaf fans don't make them one of the most hateable franchises in the league. If it were just a few of them like that, I'd get it. It's not. It's like some ridiculous disease that infects almost all of them.

Occasionally I’ll wander to the Leafs board for amusement of their drama. After a couple pages of reading I almost always leave feeling sad for them. Humor turned to tortuous sympathy.

My fiance lived in Toronto for 3 years doing an internship at Toronto General.

She explained Leaf fans as "holier than thou" and think they're all the greatest and smartest fans in the history of hockey.

I don't know any in person but I have no reason not to completely believe her.

Just go into a thread about the Leafs on any of the mains, and you will be cured of all of those sympathetic feelings in a hurry.

I just talked to her for a bit when she got home from her shift (I'm not getting any, if you're curious) and she basically said that they'd always talk down to her (and others) like she doesn't know hockey despite her playing D1 hockey for 2 years because she's a Wild fan. And for whatever reason, they use the Wild only being 20 years into the league (at the time she was in Toronto) as a weird knock against us kind of saying "I've been a Leafs fan since 1982! The Wild weren't even a thing when I graduated from high school!"

She called them the Star Wars fans of the NHL. Massive gatekeepers.

Almost bumped his thread but thought it was too much effort... but 2015 Wild pick Ales Stezka signed with Seattle. Someday I'll delete all these Google alerts for former prospects.
 
The Leafs decided to pay guys before they won something, rather than afterwards. So much for having hungry young players. They have also traded away a lot of their draft picks over the next three years. If they don't stage a comeback against FLA, this won't end well.
 
I just want more Stars diving so everyone continues to see what a joke they are.
