I think they got a little too high on their horse because they were THE place for hockey in Canada and they got the HNIC theme (and the lovely irony when HNIC got hockey).

I remember watching the TDL shows for Sportsnet and TSN awhile back and Sportsnet had some stupid party going on (and were taking news from Eklund back just before Smyth was traded) and TSN was all business.

Come the last few years and the situation was completely reversed. Sportsnet seemed like the business company and TSN had llamas and selfies and.... ughhh.

Yeah, TSN has definitely slid when it comes to professionalism. The garbage about Edmonton, tweets about players wives, hiring jackholes like Ward, and O'Neil. Unfortunately the alternative is just as freaking bad if not worse.

LA is dominating NYR right now

They're starting to pick it up again at this time of the year.

Who wants to play LA, Win or CGY in the first round of the playoffs? Win and LA are so hot right now

Most teams would probably jump at the chance to play Calgary. LA? No way.

I see vancouver as the most desirable opponent in the west. Calgary to me has just found ways to win. If that continues in the Playoffs it would be interesting, if luck finally catches up, they're out in 4

Pitt gets 1 pt in OT... too bad Blues couldn't beat them in regulation but 1 point is better than 2.

Now to watch the Yotes piss away yet another lead and come up with a creative new way to lose. Maybe Smith stands on top the net and lets one in.

History has shown that teams with terrible possession numbers don't last long in the playoffs (Colorado last year, Toronto two years ago)

Colorado lost their best dman
Toronto lost in an epic collapse

Agreed that Calgary probably wont be a threat, but they've shown they can be. Who would have pegged them to even be in this spot? Who knows what happens come playoffs

man WPG is a GOOD team. SO balanced

If the playoffs started today, they'd be playing ANA right? I'd watch that series purely for the entertainment. The physicallity and battling for position alone would be so intense, similar to the meat grinders that the Oilers Stars series were in the early 00's.

I could see Winnipeg upsetting the Ducks in 5. They're just getting ragdolled out east right now.

Winnipeg would register on the Richter scale from them partying their hearts out if the Jets win a round

The Pacific is so pathetic this year. I hope the Ducks get upset in round 1.

It's entirely possible that all the Central teams end up with at least 90 points and most will likely break the 85 point plateau. That's insane.

The Ducks seem so predicated on great early starts in seasons. It seems that by playoffs this team seldom has much left. They really haven't been a great team for months. Just they were so far ahead out of the gate. Weird thing is virtually none of the top teams in the West standings are really the top teams at this point in time.

Only the Blues have been consistent.

Its wide open in the west.

The Blues are likely to suffer another disappointment. In a conference with so many tight games, do you think Brian Elliot is the man to shut the door when they need it the most? If they don't win the division they'll draw the Hawks again in the first round, and we all know how that ended last year.

I still think it's the Hawks, Kings, and everyone else. But it'll be a whale of a playoffs (especially if the Flames aren't involved)

Hawks don't have Kane or is he returning? Blues are better this year and a bit deeper than they've been. You know I always count them out but this might be their year to go deep.

I watch the Ducks and can never figure out how they won so many games. I virtually never see that club play well.

ps Nucks just scored 3 goals in 10mins. I don't know about this Jets team. They're really up and down team and I'm not all that impressed. Seem to get off their game and frustrated easily and take too many penalties. That is a death knell in the playoffs.

I think Kane will be back around playoff time. A rested Kane would be absolutely massive for Chicago.

The Ducks are basically just the new Sharks. Pile up the regular season points and do absolutely nothing with them. I don't know how they in good conscience decided it was okay to go with two rookie goalies after the Kings bounced them last year. Sure Hiller had a bad playoffs but just imagine if the Ducks draw the Flames in the first round...

Usually I don't give 2 ***** about what happens when the playoffs roll around (except for the Canucks to lose but that's a given)... but this year I have to say I'm cheering for the Hamburglar to continue being a hero and make a playoff push for Ottawa as well... it's such a cool story when someone comes out of nowhere like that and goes on a sensational run.

Honestly would be nice to see Dubnyk lead Minnesota on a decent run as well... he deserves some credit and success after basically being discarded by so many teams and now has a chance to possibly be a playoff hero... something he likely never would have had a chance to do in Edmonton.

If the Hawks make it late into the 2nd rd, they could very well get kane back. Atleast that was the timetable given for him when the injury happened.

Dubnyk carries the wild to another win. 38 or so saves, 1 goal allowed, stopped all three shoot out shots. Has played something like 34 games in a row including multiple back to backs. Most consecutive games started by a goalie since about 2009.

There will always be an endless debate about him still being a bag of fail here if he had not left but I am loving this tremendous success. Makes MacT and his 'I can decide quickly about players' mantra look more and more idiotic each game.

Arco, 2 goals and an assist.
