Watching Mo lift the Cup was great. Guy has put so much work in that deserved to get rewarded.
Yeah, it really doesn't get much better than this:

Lonestar, Forsling, Lorentz....

Man we lost some good ones there
Its really frustrating to watch Florida have the success they are because, for all intents and purposes, there's really no excuse for us to not be there. They are everything we wanted our franchise to be, and they built it up under our nose, using some major pieces we either let walk away (Forsling, Maurice) or they beat us for (Tkachuck). They are better than us at pretty much every facet of the game, and they have the higher end talent locked up long-term that we're letting walk away because the price might be too high.

Hard to look at what they have done and not feel a little hopeless about the short term future of the Canes, because the last couple years, as good as we have been, they're better, and I don't know if our front office has the desire to do what is necessary to change that. We'll hide behind excuses and tropes like "hockey is weird", or "the playoffs are a coin flip" and just continue BAU going forward of being good, just never good enough.

Ooof

This 2 year panthers run only exists because the penguins couldn’t hold their 8th seed lead last season and bob went on a crazy heater.

Luck and timing has just as much to do with success in sports as skill. Florida has a lot of it lately

Hot take. But I felt like McDavid didn’t deserve the Conn Smythe. The supposed “most valuable player” didn’t produce in 4 games out of the 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals.

It's most valuable player of the entire playoffs. McDavid put up 40+ points the entire playoffs and broke a Gretzky record in the process.

And he put up 8 points in Games 4&5. If there's any star that deserves criticism for their play in the Finals, it's Drais, not McDavid.

They let Mo walk? That’s new.

This is a lot of words that say very little. The only difference between the Canes and Cats this year was the play of BOB for the majority of the playoffs. He was a God in net for most of the games, faltered games 3-6 and held it together in game 7. If the Canes had BOB in net instead of Freddy (who is not a bad net-minder) I have zero doubt we raise the Cup this year.
