So what you're saying is that, if forced to choose, they should be slacking in November and turning it on in April, so long as they can grind out points in the meantime and make the playoffs?

I agree 100%.

BTW - this is almost certainly why we are riding Kochetkov right now instead of giving Raanta 3 starts at a time and an occasional spot start for Pyotr.

It says something when I turn on the Hawks-Stars game to cleanse my palate from the Canes loss to AZ. Just watched the Hawks score 2 goals by simply bum rushing the net with unbelievable pressure until the puck was willed in. Not that one of the worst teams in the WC should be an example, but would be nice if we lived up to the storm surge by creating a tsunami of pressure in front of the net. We lacked that tonight.

Devils had 3 goals called back tonight (all good calls btw) and devils fans started throwing trash on the ice and leafs bench. Leafs had to go back to the dressing room until it stopped and could be cleaned up.
I only saw the “kicking” goal once, but it seemed to me that he tried to pass it with the kick, to the front of the crease … and it hit a stick (or a skate) and deflected in.

Admittedly, I don’t know the exact wording of the rule … but spirit-wise, it would seem if my facts are correct, it really should count.

Feel free to correct my facts, tho.

Our old buddy Jeff Skinner walked our old buddy Justin Faulk tonight.

If it’s kicked, it’s a no-goal even on a deflection.

Rangers traded Reeves ($1.75m contract) to Minny for a draft pick. With Wilson out I gather he is not needed (plus he appears washed up). However, I’d take him over stasny or Stephan to be a Cane protector.
Don’t even need a protector, just someone that brings some energy and causes a bit of a ruckus every now and then. The 4th line is brutal this season

Is some of that coaching? Are players being asked not to engage in the extras in an effort to try and stay out of the penalty box?

So whenever anyone has a chance, check out Dallas's game tying goal against Winnipeg. I have no clue how the play isn't blown dead, since there seems to be plenty of time between Hellybuck getting knocked the **** out and Robertson scoring.

Interference or not, injury or not, it’s completely unacceptable to let that play continue with the goalie’s helmet off.

NHL officiating, ladies and gentlemen.

When MLS surpasses the NHL leaving them the 5th most popular league in North America, you can point to videos like this as to why. Combined with their stars having the personality of a comatose hospital patient of course.

There's not much I wouldn't take over Stastny at this point.

Maybe we can have Hamilton the pig lace em up and take his spot for a few games.
