Idk I'd prefer to take the human reaction element out of officiating as much as possible.

I'd tweak the rule a bit though. Have a cavet of in the rule that if the other team gains possession and control and is unable to clear then the offisde can't be challenged or have like an offside challenge expiry time. I'd also throw the reins to a video referee rather than have the on-ice guys look at this stuff on an ipad.

There's much more pressing things that make this league worse (i.e. inconsistent officiating, shootouts, too much ambiguity in some rules, etc.)
