Around the League | 2026-2027

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
I know it's the off season but really the only time I feel compelled to post here is about how the league continues to get shittier and shittier.

Quinn Hughes, Larkin and Tkachuk kicking off the NBA era Championship chasing in the NHL. HOFers thinking Tkachuk is more worthy than Z. Then all the previous reasons on top of that.

I can understand the Houston market. But when Atlanta and Scottsdale are still getting votes, that tells me all I need to know about the ratio of greed to common sense.

oh yeah. Add overexpansion to my previous list of how the league keeps getting worse and worse.

Can't wait to see which billionaire gets a taxpayer funded stadium next!

the irony of using all those team stats is that the Wings themselves would have moved him for Rinne in a second if they were contemporaries and they saw an opportunity to do so

they were always trying to improve on him, and they had to waive him at the age of 29 when they did so because they couldn't even find anyone interested in trading for him

and then when he eventually came back it was only once there was a cap because he was willing to sign a cheap 1 year deal

oh and one of those cups he won as a starter he wasn't even the first choice and only even took over because the washed up 43 year old who would end up retiring 5 days after those Playoffs ended who started the first 4 games of those Playoffs faltered

Please. They didn't waive him cause no one wanted him. They waived him cause they needed him out quickly to bring in Joseph.

Osgood's hall resume is always tricky.

His overall accomplishments say he should be in.

But I would have loved to see this board in 98 after he let in that Langenbrunner OT goal from center ice. He was already having a horrible playoffs before that. Now he rebounded nicely after that moment, but some if not a lot of that was in part due to the team in front of him.

You know I have seen a Roy vid where he let in a shot from Langenbrunner area when he was with the Habs. Didn't hurt him at all. Barrasso was not as good and he is in and so is Vernon, case closed for Osgood not deserving to be in.

What are the Caps doing? Young player and 2 futures for Kyrou, with Ovy very potentially gone.

Oh, Columbus worried about Werenski's future and commitment for the organization.

WHAT A SURPRISE.

Another Team USA problem. New russian factor.

Fox, JT Miller, Eichel, Tkachuk1, Q.Hughes, Larkin, Tkahuck2, Werenski....

List goes on and on.

Wow turned turned into basically 2 failed firsts … even more reason to just trade Larkin for late 1sts 😂

Jack Drury is as milquetoast as they come. Svechkov and L’Hereaux are solid gambles. At worst they’re 2/3 of a scrappy 4th line.

That’s essentially Rasmussen and a 3rd for what could be an improvement and lots of grit.

f***, do something Yzerman.

Byram has a standing with front offices I don't quite understand. Happy the head stuff has stopped but I don't see what front offices around the league see in terms of there is always a ton of hype around him.

I don't know I think he is pretty good, not great. Quite good 2-3 guy that on some teams can definitely be #1. 42 pts with secondary deployment in Buffalo in both 5 on 5 and pp time is pretty good in my opinion. Chance for bigger role in Chicago and playing with Bedard probably can't hurt his numbers.

I will say the rumoured 4 year deal he is "expected" to sign is crazy bread though at 12-13 mil a season. He is someone in the 9-11 range for 4-8 years in my view.

I think he is good, but there was an argument he was their fourth best left handed D in Buffalo last year… top 5 pick and that kind of coin is crazy to me
