Leafs valued at 3.66 B
That doesn't seem surprising at all.Utah valued higher than Winnipeg, Ottawa and Columbus.
Boggles the mind.
Not really. From what I’ve seen the new owners are very impressive, SLC is beautiful and seemingly a terrific market for hockey.Utah valued higher than Winnipeg, Ottawa and Columbus.

I think it says more about what a mistake it was to put franchises in Ottawa and Winnipeg (and Columbus). It’s surprising for a team that’s just relocated (which was playing in a college arena the past year).
I know Utah is beautiful and the owners have money. But jeez. Not even a year removed from relocation. They don’t even have a name yet!
Only if you look at it from a capitalistic, profit-maximizing standpoint. But frankly, Ottawa and Winnipeg are perfectly reasonable places to have hockey teams.I think it says more about what a mistake it was to put franchises in Ottawa and Winnipeg (and Columbus).

I would suggest that is the only standpoint the owner of a professional sports franchise cares about.Only if you look at it from a capitalistic, profit-maximizing standpoint. But frankly, Ottawa and Winnipeg are perfectly reasonable places to have hockey teams.
Utah owner also owns the Jazz of the NBA. Salt Lake is easily a better sports town than the 3 cities you mentioned. When was the last time Ottawa sold out consistenly? Columbus? Winnipeg was bleeding subscriptions as recent as last season.Utah valued higher than Winnipeg, Ottawa and Columbus.
