Wonder what he would give up for his next franchise saviour, Mitch Marner.

The Leafs are only looking at a short window themselves to win.

They pretty much admitted that when they signed Tanev. They're only thinking a couple more years ahead. So trading for one of Pittsburgh's vets makes some sense from the Leafs pov similar to the Tanev signing.

Marner for Crosby (50%) and Karlsson (50%) would give them both the centre and 1RHD they need for the next two to three years.

Pens have one retention slot left after they retained on Jeff Petry and Reilly Smith.

Hey Mitch, we know you are from Toronto as is your wife and you grew up a Leafs fan. So anyway how about we trade you from your home town team in first place to a team out of the playoffs and because of your trade about to enter a long rebuild.
Yep you will probably be well into your 30s by the time they are done rebuilding.

Can’t see any reason he would use his NMC to block that trade lol

Unbelievably cringe.

Oilers and their fans are pathetic cry babies. Embarrassing.

Meanwhile over on the habs board more comedy gold

"Sign of respect from Cooper putting Vasi in vs us tonight instead of last night vs the laughs"

I guess the NYR disrespected the habs when they got Quick instead of Shesterkin

Not to mention how much celebrating they did when Arber fought Rempe.

Imagine if Rempe declined a fight pointing at the scoreboard......

Crazy that both Mon and Ott are the two wild card teams as of now.

I think the Rangers end up taking one spot and Ott and Bos fight it out for the second.

Mon should hang around and play some meaningful games in Mar/Apr

Pretty wild that the Habs are 13-3-1 in their last 17

But I think their fluke run will end soon.
I don't know. The Eastern conference is pretty mediocre. As unbelievable as it would have been to say it at the start of the season, it's possible that they do end up taking one of the wild card spots. I agree with @Jojalu that the Rangers will find a way to take one of the wild card spots, but maybe Montreal sneaks into the other one.

LAMO! Let me guess - PaulD?

If that's what it takes for their fans to feel good after coughing up 7 straight goals, well have at it.

A Ducks win would be the cherry on top tonight.

That dude is a virgin who spends his entire existence talking about the Leafs. He hates the Leafs more than he loves the Habs

I doubt Florida wins this game. They have been a mostly .500 team for the last couple of months. Their major risk is losing second place to Tampa. They have very little chance of catching the Leafs given the number of games remaining and each team's schedule.

I think my biggest worry at this point is the Rangers pulling their head out of their ass. It would be the most Leaf thing in the world to finally win the division and end up with a surging Rangers team with Shesterkyin in net as a wildcard team lol
