I'm willing to bet that Florida loses today. The bigger point is that Washington lost. Leafs have a good chance to catch them for first in the conference.
Hope you decided against it.

Nashville down 5-2 at the end of the second to the Islanders. Seems like a good time to kick them while they’re down.

16 points out of a playoff spot with all the signings and pomp and circumstance they had in the off-season is embarrassing. They’re lucky they’re in a US market, if this was anyplace in Canada they’d be getting raked over the coals and there’s no way Brunette would still have his job.

I hope O’Reilly is happy with his choice to spurn us for Tennessee. He gets to wind down his career on a shitshow. But he’s got a Cup and Smythe so I’m sure all the losing doesn’t bother him too much. Probably why this Preds team is so pathetic. Too many guys that have already won before and don’t care to try.

He wanted to have his cake and eat it to this off-season. I've got zero interest in reacquiring him too, he's made his choice, now has to spend the rest of his career rebuilding

There is a much higher chance the Leafs fall behind Fla and TB than catching Washington.

Possible the trade deadline mixes things up a bit, but 8 points in 22 games is pretty difficult to make up
That 8 point deficit will likely be 4 or 6 by Tuesday morning, depending on what Washington does against Ottawa on Monday. I think we are going to see the Leafs go on a pretty big run over the next 20 games given their schedule.

That jones trade for panthers looking very nice. pretty jelly
I posted a few days ago that either Florida or Dallas were good bets to acquire Jones. No surprise it's Florida. It also means, however, that Tkachuk is done for the season, which is also what I suspected. Jones won't make up for that loss.

Why would filling a void on D mean MT is done for the season? If Matthews were out for the season, I'm not adding at the TDL.

Seems to be a certain swagger with cup champs, like Vegas and the Bolts, where they just end up straight cap circumventing without a care.

I guess we're not good enough yet to play that game.

Hurricanes have not had a fun time against Canadian teams recently. Lost 6-3 to us (the score flattered them thanks to stupid lucky bounces), 4-0 to Montreal, and now 3-1 to Edmonton for three regulation losses in their last four games.
