As the great Ari Gold once said:I disagree that that we didn't know enough about the Babcock situation early on.
We knew Babock's history. We knew he didn't deny going through player's phones. We knew Friedman said multiple players were uncomfortable with what happened. We knew Biz doubled down and said he confirmed it with members of the team.
We knew enough not to question the validity of the reports or take Babcock's self serving PR statement at face value.
I don't get it. If you are suspect of drinking under influence, don't they take breath analyser test or blood to make sure you were under influence? How can you be charged without such a prove. It's nonsense.
I'm still scratching my head over the Mike Babcock thing. I was pissed that he was hired, and somehow, I still feel sorry for the dude having this blow up before he even had a practice with the team.
In the end it doesn't really matter, the players wanted him gone and he honestly should never have been hired in the first place. I just feel bad for the players. They now get the guy that was passed over for Brad f'in Larson to lead them.
I still don't feel too bad for Mike. He put a lot of negative into the universe. In addition to adding positives to make up for it, sometimes you just gotta eat a shitload of negatives as well. I know. They taste better with ketchup.
Someone on the radio yesterday compared the Vincent situation to Bednar's first season (Roy left just before training camp).Kinda feel bad for Pascal Vincent. Sounds like he was passed over multiple times for the head coaching gig.
He's gotta be thinking, "Oh now you want me bail you out and step in to coach this clown show right before the season starts?"
There's no way he should stay employed long enough to benefit from them making the playoffs (if they were to make them).Which owner would honestly want Jarmo as GM after this? The team has been bad for mostly ever, now this?
He better pray Columbus pulls out a miracle and makes playoffs.

It sure wasn't easy for Bednar that first year.
He didn't deny exhuming those dead babies either, which I suspected.I disagree that that we didn't know enough about the Babcock situation early on.

babcock gets zero benefit of the doubt after the shit he did to Franzen.I disagree that that we didn't know enough about the Babcock situation early on.

You know what? After Franzen abused us that might be the one time I look the other way for Babs.babcock gets zero benefit of the doubt after the shit he did to Franzen.
That's great, but you'd also be the guys Babcock sends down to the minors or keeps in the press box no matter how well you play. This isn't a player asking for PP time or being taken off the top line.
If a coach asked me to go through my phone, at 18, I'm telling him to f*** off. I'm telling that to any employer in any profession.
The one hope is that this helps really pull the team together and gives them a big chip on their shoulder. Teams that use situations like this as motivation can often outperform expectations.Kinda feel bad for Pascal Vincent. Sounds like he was passed over multiple times for the head coaching gig.

Also feels like their owner didn't fire Jarmo and JD because he didn't want to add to the chaos this season. So if they miss the playoffs again, which seems likely, it will give him a reason to hire a new GM, who will most likely want to hire a new head coach.
Oh there should be plenty of interest. Like every GM, he's had hits and misses, but most of the time he has battled the odds with players leaving simply because of the market. From all I've gathered, (podcasts, articles etc.), he's a very respected GM around the league. And while Seravelli ripped him on his podcast, a few players actually came to his defence (Biz and Vorachek), so I don't think this incident is going to determine anything regarding his career.Which owner would honestly want Jarmo as GM after this? The team has been bad for mostly ever, now this?
