Barkley is no clown act
He’s playing that role, maybe clown act is too harsh a phrase. You can’t tell me he’s not comic relief, he gets chided the whole show by the other TNT guys and the ones where he’s being made fun of are the most popular viral clips. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t know the game. I actually like him most of the time. He’s the best example of those sorts of analysts.

He gets clowned because he is easiest to make fun of based on insane statements like all San Antonio women are fat.

He provides tremendous analysis.

If anything the worst analyst of that crew is Shaq.

Again I am not talking about the quality of the analysis - I am talking about loud opinionated ex players whose personality types got them jobs. It’s a thing. TNT hired Biz because they thought maybe they had another Barkley. Sometimes it works out and they add valuable insights and sometimes they are unbearable and hard to watch or listen to.

Nah, he's too busy getting into fights about teenagers' parking habits.

OMG that guy is unbelievable. The best part was when he told the guy his first name started with a capital S. Doesn't all first name start with a capital letter?

I don’t see how Barkley belongs with the other two. I’m a huge basketball fan and it’s so rare to see a negative reaction towards him. I feel like even fans of other sports love Barkley.

With Biz because his whole thing is just the standard hockey player/hockey culture guy. He does well with people who love hockey culture. There’s a section of online hockey fans who tend to hate that. SC podcast is basically what a big chunk of hockey locker rooms are like and that’ll create a stir online. That’s a popular demo among hockey fans so obviously makes sense for TNT. Won’t be as successful as Barkley tho.

Steven A is just a master troll who’s built his empire with fake opinions that trigger your average sports radio caller. Far more calculated than Barkley/Biz.

What a jackass. He didn't even live there and he's threatening to fight 16 year old kids who just moved in, because they parked wrong? And he's telling them their parents raised them wrong lol?

When he leaned over and put his hands on his knees and said, "What are you gonna do? I'll give you the first one" the guy should have kicked him right in the balls and then stomped on his dumb head. According to him that's the only way people learn.

Sean Avery seems like the reason the c-bomb exists. He's a manifestation of all the worst characteristics of an "alpha male". Just an entitled arrogant sack of dicks all round. An absolute helmet. An unfunny knob gag. A twatwhistle. A cockslipper. A shitwhisk. A f***plank. An absolute mug. f*** this guy.

I never was a fan of Sean Avery but I always assumed that he was playing a douchebag character and he wasn't like that in real life.

So either he's the worst douchebag I've ever seen or that video was staged (which wouldn't surprise me coming from him).

Hmmm I'm not sure I understand how you feel about him. Could you be more specific please? I'm a bit confused...

They certainly have an agenda against Babcock.

This is much ado about nothing. Babcock is trying to get to know his players so he can coach them better. There are many different ways to do this, this is just his approach. Some will like it, some won't... and that is okay. Some people are more private. Some people are more than happy to share. It doesn't sound like he's forcing people, so if people don't want to share, they don't have to.

I will say in my business life, relationships matter. Probably more than anything else actually. You can find skilled and capable people everywhere, those that can connect, built trust, care, etc... those are the people who get ahead. They tend to be the leaders and they tend to be the people that people like to work for (that isn't to say it gets the best results or the only way).

In coaching... I think to some extent, you need to know your players, their family, and their support system. Doesn't mean you need to know all the details or be friends, but the knowledge of who they are, where they come from, what buttons you can and cannot push, etc is extremely helpful to getting the most out of a player. Coaching is not a one size fits all thing anymore. You can't coach each player the exact same. You can't hold them to the exact same standard. You can't approach them with issues the same way. Having background and a base level connection outside the job aspect is critically important IMO.
It seems like there is some smoke with the younger guys.

But Biz is out there. I'm surprised he's still employed with anyone. Talking about orgy's and being a sexist on the air, suggesting 18 yo's go to strip clubs and use illegal substances right after a draft... The guy has always just been about making as much useless noise as possible. He got tame for a bit but that cork clearly popped.

I lived in AZ for a bit and man, Biz just screams Scottsdale d-bag. Worst of the worst types. Lots of rumors about how he'd creep around Tempe picking up young ASU students. Phoenix is smaller than some people think when it comes to the community. It's an odd place and words spreads quick if a pro athlete is a creep.

Reminds me of the punch line to Norm MacDonald's Albert Fish joke. I won't post it because the setup's kind of gruesome.
