"NHL DPOPS in a joint evaluation with the NHLPA, has decided that Rainbows are distracting against a white ice surface."

Permanent white noise..

NHL and hockey in general are going to lose fan in droves over the next decade from: being homophobic, sexual abuse cover ups, sexual assault cover up, racism, and the league being complicit in all of it in varying forms. This is before you even talk about the costs…

Curious to see what growth women’s hockey has in the years to come as someone with a young daughter.

I didn't see the hit on Byram but usually no one comes to your defense for 3 reasons:

1. The guys on the ice are cowards (not the case we've seen ours fight)
2. The guy that got hit put himself in a vulnerable position and is more or less deserving
3. The teammates don't like the guy that got hit enough to hurt themselves

I can definitely see 2 and 3 being the reason.
You don’t fight with a minute and a half left with the game tied

You don’t think anyone on that teams sees a mouthy cocky young kid that hasn’t proven shit?
what evidence do you have to support that he’s mouthy?

Sorry but your grasping at straws here.

This move has 0 impact at the NHL-level. Who cares. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement at the AHL-level.
It does because their entire organisation's goaler depth is affected by an injury just like every team. If Georgiev gets injured for us, it makes us recall Annunen, forces Holm as the starter in the AHL, and makes Miner the backup (lose-lose-lose-lose-lose all around) with one goaler down for the ECHL team. Getting an all-star calibre goaler like Kochy allows the Lightning to have some cushion even though going into the season with Johansson and Tomkins is a potential disaster.

They need to change something. Women sports are booming, especially soccer in Europe.

Anyone know how Newhook has looked in Montreal this preseason? I was one of his biggest skeptics but in saying he seemed like a good kid and do hope he finds a way to carve out a top six worthy career.

No one remembers Flyers pride night from last year, but everyone remembers the media going after Provorov.

NHL probably realize there are enough players who will opt out that it will be a massive distraction going forward. NHL wouldn't take this action if teams hadn't asked them to.

At least most players have a social media presence these days so they are free to publicly support whatever they choose.

I'm one of those that believe that players should have a choice to partake or not in non-hockey related affairs but I also think this decision from the NHL is absolutely stupid.

Who cares if your AHL team wins or loses? Come on.
