I gave other reasons for why this happens but sure whatever fits your narrative...

you guys wanna slob on Byram's knob year after year watching him fall down 2019 redraft lists that's on you.

Saying Byram is a top 5 dman in the league is completely more idiotic than anything i've suggested.

I'm not drinking the kool aid and can take off my burgundy glasses to evaluate talent and personality.

Are Zegras and Kent Johnson wingers now? Fancy pants skills but rocks for brains I guess.

Still maintain Cozens was the pick to make in 2019 with his size/skating/skill/work ethic combo. Would have fit this team so well

Imagine that they had drafted Cozens and Krebs in '19, would have solved the 2C and 3C holes forever.

Regardless, we don't win the Cup without Byram playing some insane shutdown minutes so I guess I'll take it. Krebs over Newhook wouldn't have affected the Cup run though.

I disagree I think we win the cup without Byram. That was his best stretch of pro hockey to date tho.

What's the story with this Wyatt Johnston?

Ok first year in the OHL as a youngster. No stats for 2020-2021 (did he not play anywhere at all because of covid?) and still gets taken in the first round. Massive breakout in OHL his D+1.

Then to the NHL and looks pretty legit. f*** Dallas drafts so much better than we do

Well it's not that hard to draft better than us, other than 2017, which was a great draft by them a lot of their 1st round picks were busts, many were picks 14th or better. There's a few good picks here and there, but nothing earth shattering imo.

Nobody thinks Byram is a top 5 Dman in the league. He's arguably not even a top 3 Dman on most NHL teams.

Peyton Krebs hasn't looked good in the NHL at all since being drafted, whether it be Vegas or Buffalo. He is in no way a 3C right now.

Dallas' scouts take risks, Avs team are stuck wanting bottom-six grit character lads with 3rd round picks lol.

They got some pretty awful 1st round selections, but they grabbed Hintz, Robertson, a 0-game played Covid season of Johnston, and Stankoven all with non-first-round picks. Wyatt actually is one, but they gambled on like 7-8 games played for the WJC U18.

Yeah, they have good hits, but boy do they also miss and never really hit on depth either. They pretty much draft average, just with a good handful of recent players.

Also, Stankoven hasn't done shit yet.
