Absolutely the best choice and should stick. The colours and logo are a big meh, but that’s immediately a top-5 team name in the NHL. And I’m dead f***ing serious.

Not a fan at all. I get it if it's just for the one year, but if that name sticks...how completely devoid of anything approaching creativity.

It sounds like a club that will make the playoffs every single year but never advance past the second round. They'll be good. Some might even say they're a team...Or maybe even a HOCKEY CLUB. But they won't be champions with a generic name like that.

If they go with the Yeti, Calgary needs to change their mascot to Heat Miser.

Interesting that they're opening with an away jersey and an alternate. When do they release the home?

Meh, we knew they were going with a boring-ass look, much akin to the entire PWHL. And really, that's fine, but then the onus is then to come up with a look and name that will truly excite the fans. In other words, you better f***ing get it right if you're gonna take this long.

I just hope it's not like it was with the Redskins, who kept "Washington Football Team" for two f***ing years and then picked the most boring, generic name possible, and uniforms/logos that actually looked WORSE than when they were WFT.

Should have gone with Mammoth. That name and possible jersey/mascot had potential to be amazing day 1.

I still think the right move was to go with Utah Swarm and call their stadium the Hive.

Just not sure how to make a logo of a swarm that looks cool and modern. But the name would be perfect for a high pressure entertaining system. But at the end of the day, it's neither my circus nor my monkeys.

Years back, my attorney and accountant purchased a minor-league baseball team. They did the same name contest as Utah and many other teams. They picked Sandgnat, which is an incredibly annoying little bug - like a mosquito but with a far worse attitude. I wondered why they would choose the absolute nemesis of all Savannahians. Their reply? About 50% of their net profit came from merchandise sales, and a cartoonish bug sold a ton of merchandise.

In that vein, Mammoth or Yeti would make a huggable plush toy which kids would demand their parents purchase. I grew up near New York City, and strangely enough, not a single team ( Mets, Yankees, Rangers, Islanders, Jets, Giants, Knicks, Nets and Cosmos back in the day) had a particularly magical mascot. Obviously, NYC is a huge market, so there was not a dire need. But Utah is a small market, and will need every penny of profit they can get.

Pfffffft, I care more about a local lacrosse team than I do some hockey club I will be rooting against in most scenarios.
Our local barn houses an Olympic sheet of ice for our University team to play on. I think they are one of the few NCAA teams to play on Olympic sized ice.

Anyways, a decade or so ago there was a failed attempt at one of those indoor arena football leagues and Fairbanks got one for a couple of years. It was alright, but I didn't care for football on a smaller field. Field Lacrosse, doesn't really capture me but indoor lacrosse does. I think the sport does better in a smaller environment. I would legit watch more of it if available. I'd love for Fairbanks to get a team.

So boring, my 3 year old could have designed something better.
These are temp jerseys, not too hard to understand that. Actually, it's the jersey stolen from the Winnipeg Ice via the WHL.

That might be 100% true, but you're just one person in a galaxy of a trillion stars in a universe of quadzillmillionbillion stars.

Yeah, I like indoor lacrosse, can't stand indoor football.

All I remember the one and only time I went to a live arena football game was at the old, now long-since-demolished Pershing Center here in Lincoln, and the only thing I remember was how dangerous that venue was...stairs all over the place but NO handrails anywhere. Could not believe it. Anyway, point is I could not tell you a single thing about the game itself.
