That'll be murky because it is still student visa based. To clarify though, they cannot make NIL money in the US... they can still get it their home countries. A number of schools have organized 'camps' or similar in the player's home country to get them NIL.

Dundon just handles staff so oddly... it might be the right move and right way (we will see in time), but it isn't normal in the NHL.

Lowballed/refuses to pay staff comparable wages with appropriate term. It’s a philosophical thing with him from the business world.
One of the first things that came out about Dundon was how much he bitched and moaned about how much front office staff was being paid. So this was an inevitability.
Gotta give Waddell credit. Him taking over for Francis at the time looked so bad and yet he proved to be a very capable GM. I dunno if he's a great GM but I also feel he had to deal with a meddlesome boss who hamstrung him more than people realize. I also kinda love the blunt honestly he serves up at the occasional presser.
