Could not winning the division/conference be a blessing in disguise?
I thought the same. Dallas winning the Central and West only to, probably (!!) face Vegas in Round 1.... So one big fish would be out early...

LA is playing Anaheim tonight. I mean, its LA. They are always in for another shit-show, but thats a game they should take.

Nashville the Jets.

Nashville winning that game would be huge for them to secure their position and would help us out big time.

Actually when you think about it, this year there is no easy path coming out of the west. Have to face a tough team in every round. Maybe the weakest team is LA. I think Preds will be tougher than people think.
I don't have the numbers in front of me, but Winnipeg has had a kinda meh second half of the season, no? They've handled us this year fairly well, but that's arguably the easiest or second easiest match up based on reputation at least in the West.

LA has an easy schedule to close out the season and Vegas needed that win last night. Good chance we get Dallas against Vegas round 1 now.

Vegas is still only 2 points behind Nashville and have a game in hand.
Nashville wins the tie brake currently. They also play WPG, CHI, CBJ, and PIT.
Vegas plays EDM, MIN, COL, CHI, ANH.

Not terribly difficult schedule for either but if Nashville wins out they're ahead of Vegas. Why I say last nights loss was big for VGK.

I think Nashville and LA are a step below the rest of the WC playoff teams, and the other 6 WC playoff teams look pretty similar, pretty close. They're all good teams, all have strengths, but fall short of 'dominant' teams. Looking like a pretty close dogfight.

Might just come down to injuries and goaltending.

Oh shit, wait.....

Has Torts been fired yet?

Going for 8 consecutive losses.

11 losses in their last 13 games. Their Cinderella season got completely ruined after the Couturier healthy scratch.

What? They are rebuilding, he and Quinn probably have the longest leashes of anybody. Or are you trying to make drama for the sake of making drama?

It is not a coincidence that their season fell hard once they traded Walker away. I don't know if it is a talent issue, but selling like they did with him could've messed up the entire mentality of the team.
