Overall that pairing has been good together (to my surprise), but they have a few of these complete wtf moments happen. This one was just a more glaring than normal one.

Oilers win 5-0. I know San Jose sucks but Oilers team defense gave them next to nothing. I think Skinner had to make 3-4 good saves tops. Must be nice.

I think there is a very decent chance that Edmonton is the WC1 team and faces the Central winner in the first round... and the only team that has better underlying is LA.

Other players are wearing them, but not many right now. Bertuzzi and Oshie wear them I believe. Probably a few others. I imagine it will increase next season.

I go full bubble for beer league after a teammate got sliced. One night it saved my nose after getting a skate like Mark did here.

I don't think it's a fluke, but I also don't think there's a reason Bedard's skates should be coming that high at all.

I get it's a different speed but I have NEVER gotten tripped on the ice where my skates went as high as a player's face. Though I do see Scheifele is hunched over in this situation.

It's not really as much about Bedard, as much as it is Scheifele reacting to Bedard's speed, and change of pace, that puts himself in a dangerous position.

I immediately thought of a time when someone was just smashing an Avs guys head to the ice in a scrum. Got nothing if I recall correctly. Wish I could remember the game. Well it might have happened more than once.

Anyway that shit should be dealt in courtrooms outside the sport imo. Even MMA refs stop the fight when someone's on the ground getting punched in the head.

This is one of those situations, where players should just haymaker a guy with their glove on, because he's not showing you the same respect to take his glove off.

The play was on the other end of the ice, with them trying to score. And yeah, at some point the ref needs to realize it's not about breaking up a fight, it's about protecting the player. Thus it's on you, not the linesman.
