GDT: Around the League 2023-24 I : "Wake Up. September Has Ended!"

Team is in shambles. You have Zadorov coming out early in season and calling out the team, but then he does very little himself to go out and motivate the players.

Lindholm, Zadorov, Tanev, Hanifin, all UFA's at season end. They play their cards right they can at least start building for the future.

Yes they'll have their boat anchors in Huberdeau,Coleman, Kadri, and some others but with a rising cap and a team headed to the dumpster maybe they can find a way in a few years to move on from them.
 
None of us probably care much about the Ottawa Senators.... I dont really like or dislike them. Meh.

But this forfeiture of a 1st round pick seems totally nuts. 2 years later? For a paperwork error? When the club has new management who had no part in it and the whole thing is a giant nothingburger that nobody was talking about and had no lasting negative effect for the teams and player involved?

I mean I'm one of the first to jump on you guys when we get the "conspiracy against Canada" posts after a game with bad officiating. But this seems to be a garbage call by the league and it undermines my argument that clubs are treated equally.

I am still waiting for the league to, I don't know, admit that they didn't take the Blackhawks situation seriously?

Yup. Blackhawks cover up a disgusting sexual predator situation and the league treats them with kid gloves, no lost draft picks. And then is overjoyed when Bedard goes there, promoting him more in one week than they have McDavid in his whole career.

I think it depends on circumstance - ie. was it a clerical error, or did they have evidence the Senators knew about it and deliberately misrepresented the nature of the NMC to Vegas? One punishment should far exceed the other.

That still doesn't mean that the punishment makes any sense in the context of other penalties.
 
If there was one player I would have predicted to sign up with these 2 and their overrated "sheeps buy" drink, it's Matthews lol

I love the Oiler color theme though

Makes sense when compared to other issues with contracts I.E. Kovalchuk. Seems like the Sens got off with no cash penalty due to new ownership.

What I don't get is why these NTC are so complicated. Should be a central registry that agents and teams submit too

Meh he's probably getting a decent dollar for doing so. I personally think it's one of the worse drinks I ever had in my life, but apparently it sells.
