I knew that the Jets were having issues with season ticket holder retention and general sales, but that is surprising even taking that into account. It isn't like this is a mundane Tuesday night game against the Coyotes in January either, it's against a good team with the Dubois intrigue early in the season.
Listening to a summer 32 Thoughts podcast, Friedman mentioned that the Jets are tailoring their marketing towards a theme of "we're all in this together." ie. a nice way of saying "everyone better start buying tickets again or the foundation of the organization might get shaky." Winnipeg is not a big town, does not have a ton of money, and does not have a ton of local corporate money that gets dumped into season seats. Things could go south there much quicker than other Canadian markets. I have it on fairly reliable authority that they weren't making much money if any even in the best of times during their Winnipeg 2.0 experience either.
