Well thats a mishmash of a trade. I guess Forsberg hits FA?

edit: Nashville still has tons of cap room.

Now that Kadri’s won a cup and proven his haters wrong, I wonder if he’ll just go wherever and take the biggest payday.

I have a suspicion Seattle might be where he ends up. They want to spend in UFA and the fit/need is there.

How about Detroit? He's from London, they've got a lot of cap space and they seem to be a team on the rise with a few great young players.

Players from the salutegate/quit-on-Horachek team able to win Stanley Cups. At the time, I didn't think some of them had it in them. Kessel in Pittsburgh. Bozak in St. Louis. Kadri in Colorado. I'd really like to see one more from that team win a Stanley Cup: Morgan Rielly.

I mean from that team, those are the only players i would've expected to win a cup and Komarov.

Gotta win something.

So do you give up the 1st. pick for an impact player, like any impact. They do have some non-impact players like did they play? Like 4 of the bottom 6 maybe?

Like almost every year, Matthews, marner, Nylander, Tavares, Rielly lead the team in post season scoring.

What if they added a player in the mix who can challenge those 3? Who cares about regular season, just someone else to step up in post-season?

Do you give up the 25th. pick for that?

Last 5 years PPG.

I’ve already stated that if you don’t prepare for the 3rd phase now, they will be sorry.
I don’t give up any more draft picks to resurrect this.

Tampa and Colorado took steps back before they got to the end.
Sometime you need 1 step back for 2 steps forward.
The core has failed 4 times. The salary structure has depleted depth.
As I’ve said, who are we? Colorado of MacKinnon,Duchene,O’Reilly,Shattenkirk days? It sucked but they had to change.

Trade Muzzin.
Trade Nylander before UFA becomes a problem.
Wait out Tavares (or maybe he decides to waive once you commence the above). Either way.

Matthews, Marner + new core forward locked up to a long term deal. Is that a 2C like the new Kadri version? You mentioned Horvat before. Perfect. Nichushkin 5/5.5 x 6?

Rielly, + looking for a new core D.
Goalie.
Money is split 3 up front, 3 in the back.
More time for Sandin/Lily in the lineup.
Draft, draft, draft.
Prepare for Knies. Hope for Amirov. Work with Robertson.

They won't do it but the play could be to stay competitive (should not be too difficult when you have a unicorn scoring 60 goals, a magician and an $11m #2C) load up with young studs who will break out just before JT's contract runs out.

Colin White was just bought out by the Sens. Any chance Leafs take a flyer on him to be a cheap bottom six guy for us?

He’s young, still has legs on him. Former first round pick. I’m surprised they are buying him out

His minutes have been slashed on one of the worst teams in the league, he's not very good in the dot, doesn't PK, isn't very big, and only put up points one season with Stone and Tkachuk as line mates. Maybe on a $750k contract, where you can put him on waivers and he can play for the Marlies, but not much interest otherwise.
