Sharks have suddenly won 3 in a row and a couple have been against good teams. I've wondered if they might just be in a slightly different class than some of the other teams at the bottom.

Yeah the Sharks winning is good for us. I was worried they'd not win as many at this point.
St. Louis being bad is a shock but then again maybe their cup window is over but could still make the playoffs.

Devils are pretty much at the cap, and they have a big offseason coming with a lot of key resignings. Might have to do some hard decisions. So while they're one of the best teams now, next year might be harder for them.

I think St. Louis will bounce back. Seems like they are a bit unlucky. They have some good young players and I don't think that all of their veterans fell off after the last season. They might miss the playoffs this year though.

Are they like the 2017-18 Ducks where they were bad in the first few months but then suddenly turned it around and made the playoffs ? The year of the Grantzlaf.

Yeeeeah, then we got smoked in the 1st round by the Sharks.
Maybe the only way we win that series is if McLellan was still the Sharks coach lol.
McLellan is probably the only coach to have a 0-2 series record against Carlyle.
I imagine Carlyle probably beats him in a game of chess 9 out of 10 times even if Carlyle sucks as Chess.

or like the 18-19 blues who were in last place in december and ended up winning the cup

the funny thing is that the 15-16 ducks started off terribly as well, much like the 17-18 team. and both of those teams got their ass kicked in round 1

Was that the year Ahlers and Hayward called the team the Cardiac Kids ? because they'd trail a game and come back and win. Or blowed a lead, tied it up and won it.

My favorite of Boudreau teams is still that 2013-14 team that set franchise records for goals scored, proving they were fine without Bobby Ryan after Duck haters were saying they'd struggle to score.

i thought that was 2010-11

boudreau is by far the best coach this franchise ever had. he got those teams to play at a level they had no business playing at

NJ gets instant relief after the season with the last year of G Beniers' $4.125 mil and F Johnsson' $2.275 mil. That's a total of $6.4 mil extra play room for the Devils. The cap might also be bumped up $1 mil next year too.
