Again, this discussion was never Gibson vs Stolarz which heusy doubles down on missing. It was what evidence is there that Gibson is actually good. Because we are yet to see any in this thread.

Yeah he literally doesn't have any reason to bring it every night and he's almost carrying that team.

He had 4 points the other night and was still a -1 because he was indirectly or directly responsible for almost every goal against (minus 1 EN). I watched that game and he played every minute like his team needed a goal at expense of him actually defending. Durzi on cocaine.

It's just Ottawa all over again, dude can put up offense no one doubts that, but his ability to do that AND play winning hockey is not consistent.

Wildly entertaining and one of the best offensive d of all time though, abso-f***ing-lutely. Insanely fun to watch.

Marner is undoubtedly the better player, but Fiala isn't far off. I love that Fiala brings toughness and grit (for an offensive-minded skill player, anyways). He's toned down the dumb penalties but still been tough to play against and tough to knock off the puck.

Even though he's leading the team I feel like he still doesn't get enough credit, he is so much fun to watch. I saw the other day that the Fiala - Kupari - Grundstrum line is in the top 10 offensive lines in the NHL and I'm guessing 90% of that is Fiala.

ONe reason I don't mind his ozone penalties as much is this mindset, he's going for it every time, takes his licks, gives his licks. Kempe's are often just lazy, Fiala's are angry and sometimes retaliatory but it's just that 'f*** you' mindset he has and I love it.

EK has freakin 28 points in 19 games tied with Crysaitle for second in the league in scoring . Say what we want about Erik Karlsson but dude is balling out this year on a lottery team. Crazy.

Seems like that guy can only enable beast mode on lottery teams.

Yeah that's a fair look at it

And that's the thing--EK is maybe the most lethal weapon in the league, arguably even more so than Makar, it's useful and important to deploy him as such and it's excellent to have the team ready to cover his weaknesses.

No one has ever questioned his offense, even when hurt/sick. He's that good. The question is just always can he outscore his deficiencies enough to help the team, and can he minimize errors when protecting a lead like a #1 needs to.

All this 4 forwards talk with EK & Marner, F it. Kempe to Defense. He does a decent job defending on the PP when Doughty goes rogue. Shot from point, can skate out of trouble & join the rush, can pass the puck. Not going to name names, but Kempe wouldn't even be the worst D on the team.

His line clicked so well last season I never thought he was going to leave. He had like zero pre-season this year with the contract holdout and came back in as if that line didn't skip a beat. It's unreal.
