Dear Lord, with Kane out McDrais are truly men on an island. Well RNH and Hyman visit them but I don’t know if it’s possible to have more abysmal secondary scoring from forwards on an alleged playoff team.

McDavid has 11 5v5 points and Draisaitl has 9 because none of these losers can put the puck in the net. Losing Kane really hurts.

I mean, yikes.

In comparison, here’s our sexy beasts 5v5 goals

(They do have more PP goals obviously.)

What amazes me is this not even close to the first year where this is a problem and it still hasn't been fixed.

They look like prime candidates for Blackwood next year. Quick UFA, Peterson AHL.
I think Petersen is probably getting bought out, provided he doesn’t do well in the AHL and gets back to the NHL before season’s end and does well.

I was still thinking about his game last night on my walk around lunchtime and it hit me that they’ll probably buy him out.

I never expected him waived just yet though.

I could see them re-signing Quick for one more year, but I could just as easily see him either retiring or signing on somewhere else.

Quick is pretty washed though. I wouldn’t want him if I were almost any team in the league. He’s had one good year in the last 5 and his style of play is no longer effective at his current age.

He spends much of the games on his ass swimming around and breakdancing in the crease.

He doesn’t look like he’s that bad, but Ondrej Pavalec didn’t either. I can guarantee that there’s probably a pretty good amount of goals scored on him that don’t look stoppable but really are, due to the way he plays.

Looks like the $5 million dollar nobody man has been waived by the Kings today.
I immediately thought of you when I saw it on Twitter. LOL

Would Petersen-Blackwood be the horror (read: dream) team goalie tandem for you? Maybe bit of Martin Jones in there. If we keep it to goalies that actually get legit NHL playing time, not Jon Gillies of the world types.

I could totally see two of Petersen, Blackwood and Jones being a tandem for someone like Chicago or another adoring tanker next year.

Though I’m pretty sure MraSUCK is still under contract for one more year.

Will be interesting if Petersen gets sent down to the AHL to try to work out the kinks or if it was just a public wakeup call. I'm reminded of Anaheim waiving Adam Henrique in February 2021. Nobody was touching his contract, so he cleared but was never sent to the AHL. They kept him out of the lineup for a couple weeks but when he started producing like normal after returning.

It's one thing for a skater than can be buried down in the lineup and/or have their minutes reduced until they get their game going. For a goalie though, there's no hiding him.

100% he's going to the AHL to work on fixing his game. Kings are battling for a playoff spot and can't afford to have him figure it out at the NHL level while costing them games.

Now at what point do the Oilers do this with Campbell :sarcasm:

Imagine playing so badly as a goaltender coming in in relief during a barnburner, that your team immediately waives you the next day.

Now that is an accomplishment.

Good for Maroon. f*** Jack Edwards

F*** Jack Edwards indeed, but what prompted this from Maroon? I haven't heard the backstory. Did Edwards make some (characteristically) shitty comment on a broadcast?

Don't have the tweet but just an extended fat joke ramble that did not land very well.

Ducks did keep Henrique out for a couple weeks before they dressed him again, but yeah definitely harder to hide a goalie. Kings do their eastern Canada road trip next week. Maybe they call up Matt Villalta (.927 sv% in AHL this season but small sample) and let him have an NHL debut at "home" against Ottawa?

I remember when Edwards got butt hurt a few years ago when the Hurricanes were having Whalers jersey throwback day, and some Canes guy was wearing his usual number, but it's a number that was retired by the Whalers that some guy wore. Forgot if this was a HHOF player or not.

In fact, I forgot who the hell it even was, probably because I don't give a shit about Hartford or Boston, but I think he also was a former Bruin.

Edwards went on about for at least 2 minutes and was incredibly upset by it. I thought the whole thing was so funny and hoped that the guy would wear the number again just to make Edwards even more mad.

Oh god, it was actually Dougie Hamilton LOL.

That's right! He was a former Bruin and people were speculating he took it as maybe an opportunity to trash a former Bruins player.

I like him even more now.
I just went back and watched it again. Dude sounded like someone got away with killing a close friend or family member of his. It was such a whiny piece and it was literally even longer than 2 minutes. It was probably at least 2 minutes and 30 seconds or more. It cuts off a 2 minutes and 20 seconds. He took some pauses early on, not to call the game, but dramatically pauses to collect his thoughts.

He calls Dougie Hamilton a ''Lesser player'' than John McKenzie and said there's hardcore McKenzie fans that are so mad that he's wearing that number. He also implies that nobody on the Canes should be wearing that number, while also acknowledging that others before Dougie had worn it between its retirement by the Whalers and then.

And then he starts going into how they didn't un-retire Ron Francis's number or Glen Wesley's number or Gordie Howe's number. He was still going on and the video cuts out cause that's all the person had recorded of it.

There's an all too obvious reason why Francis and Wesley's numbers were not ''Un-retired''. Both guys actually were still active when the Whalers moved to North Carolina and became the Hurricanes. They both played for the Hurricanes. There numbers were not retired by the Whalers, they were retired by the Hurricanes. Both just so happened to play for the organization before it was relocated from Hartford.

And Gordie Howe is constantly cited as a top-10 or even top-5 player all time. I'm not trying to take a shot at McKenzie because it's not necessary, but I think it's fair to say he's ''Lesser'' than Gordie Howe.

Didn’t know Colton White already had 12 GP for the Ducks this season.

View attachment 614966

Not sure how 13:14 ATOI equals 2nd pair defenseman but White is up to 49 NHL GP now.

He only needs handful of more game to pass Brett Seney’s 55 GP to suddenly become the 2015 Devils draftee with 3rd most NHL GP (out of 5, but hey, good for him).
He actually played a decent game against Nashville last night

This Shit is no joke. I use to weigh 250-270 as a kid and teenager. Was bullied in school for a decade straight. It’s starts with “small” jokes like that. Then it morphed into people telling me to go kill myself. I tried doing just that one night when I hit a breaking point. Thankfully I failed.

16 years later I weigh 185 and the healthiest and happiest I’ve been. f*** YOU Jack Edwards. You will get yours one day. Scumbag announcer for a scumbag organization.
