Thanks. I'm a little surprised at basketball being so high, but it was created by a Canadian, so that's ok. :sarcasm: Missed cricket, which I've only played once, and isn't as big in North America as elsewhere.

I had two of the top four. Still waiting for nineteen67 to list his top three.

Good article. I think you should have included the fan counts in your summary:

Football: 3.5 billion
Cricket: 2.5 billion
Basketball: 2.4 billion
Hockey: 2.2 billion
Tennis: 1 billion
Volleyball: 900 million
Table Tennis: 850 million
Baseball: 500 million
US and Canadian Football: 410 million
Rugby: 400 million

Why does no one talk about the chances of him leaving Boston this offseason as a UFA? How many times did the media bring up Zach Hyman and Jack Campbell leaving in their last year with Toronto.
Very possible if he's thinking long term. Aging core in Boston.

He's been red hot too. 13 goals in his last 11 games.

Perhaps they talk about it in Boston?

Maybe they are. However, I was referring to segments on TSN like Insider Trading. Besides Patrick Kane and maybe Jonathan Toews, wouldn't Pastrnak be the next big name to possibly become a UFA?
No idea I don’t pay any attention to the media.

Because they have a ton of cap space and have been (relatively) successful

'Cuz everyone is trying to figure out how the Leafs fit his cap hit into the line-up.

Yeah, 2023 NHL Free Agents - CapFriendly - NHL Salary Caps

Dylan Larkin - wants to stay in a non-playoffs roster forever.
Matt Dumba - is going to take a huge haircut to stay with the Wild.
Patrick Kane - is only going to be a rental then go back to Hawks to play with Bedard.
O'Reilly - has no more ambition to play for a contender.
Horvat - he's going to do a sign and trade.
...

All their core guys seem to love it there and not want to leave. Hopefully he goes to a non division rival. I think he re-signs though.

Surprised Table Tennis is higher than Baseball since beside Europe, Baseball is being play every where.
Would have thought Rugby will be higher too. Not sure do they just count Union and 15 players, or actually add in Union, League, 15s, 10s and 7s like they do with NFL and CFL.
In terms of American Football, pretty sure if they also add LFL numbers, they will be in the billions, lol.

1. We don't live in Boston. Pretty sure the Boston medias bring this up too.

2. Bruins is the best team in Hockey byfar.

3. Leadership in Berge and Marchand.

I just don't know if Puljujarvi (sp?) has any future in the NHL?

People are all over Engvall, who actually can fill some roles.
I think the Oilers have done everything to make the pick work.

What teams plays a methodical, slow, heavy game?

Yeah I'm not sure about his future in the NHL. I'm hoping a change of scenery will do the trick. Maybe a team like Dallas, St Louis, or even LA.

This is my take but the oilers draft high and get a lot of players with skill but are just atrocious in developing them. I think this happened with Pulj...I still recall MSP and so on.

Loss #700 for Maurice. Jets and Panthers both have done a 180 this year.
Wonder what's the common theme there. :sarcasm:

I'm more surprised by Florida than Winnipeg, though. Hellebuyck was still a top 3 to 5 goalie despite last year's down season. And Dubois is finally scratching into all that talent. Florida was due to regress because Bobrovsky overachieved last year and I thought they lost the Tkachuk trade, but there's no reason they should be this bad with the type of talent they have on their roster.

Good point.

Boston is right up at the cap according to capfriendly. They have 9 ufas expiring this year and 2 rfas. These ufas will want raises to stay.

They have to downgrade a number of these players to be able to keep Pasta, if he wants to get paid his worth.
