Boston Toronto Tampa look like the top 3 in the Atlantic. Not sure if Florida even grabs a Wild Card spot.

Florida lost Huberdeau, Weegar, Marchment and Duclair of their top players from last year. They were replaced with Tkachuk, Colin White, Nick Cousins, Eric and Marc Staal...

Outside of Tkachuk, those are pretty big down grades.

They've gone from the high powered offensive team, and 4.11 GF/G, down to 3.41 GF/G

Plus Bob hasn't been very good this season, with a .888 SV%, compared to .913 last year.

GA/G went from 2.95 to 3.36 this year.

I like Maurice, and I think he has the right intentions, but you're right...he neutered the Jets from achieving great things, and he is already sewering the Panthers.

Teams with offensive talent like that should not be focused defensively, and instead should be pushing the pace offensively. Better to win 5-4 than constantly lose 2-1 or 3-2 because you are trying to instil defensive discipline to the team.

Maurice is the biggest example of GMs not looking past anything more than "does he have a recognizable name" when it comes to hiring.

The guy is one you hire to keep the bench warm during a couple tanking seasons, not one you try and be competitive with

Nah, let's be better than that.

Do we care who wins the T.B/Boston game tonight? East doesn't look as daunting from 1-8 this year so it might be a bonus facing off against a wildcard team this time.
