f*** PPG. Marner showed it means nothing. None of our guys has put their team on their backs in 7 attempts like MT has done these playoffs. None !!! If one had, your stick boy might still have a job.

Yes, we hope one of them can do it for us. Question is how long do you keep running the same guys back thinking this will be the year one does it ??

How many goals did MT score in the second round?

The Vegas/Dallas game on ABC couldn't even break the 2 million mark.

No one outside of those markets watched that in America.
That’s the way it always is, plus the espn factor doesn’t make it better. Same in Canada.

They need the big markets, NY, Bos, Det, Philly, Chic to make a run.

Not gonna lie, Eichel getting the last laugh on McDavid and Matthews would be pretty hilarious.

"Oh, you generational boys make the playoffs every year? Look at me, I won the Cup on my first try!"
You had how many chances in the playoffs?

The league lets these guys get away with stuff too often they're obviously going to keep doing it. Not surprising Benn did what he did last night based on his own history

The inconsistency of reffing is quite baffling. I get playoffs have a different metric but it's absurd the parity NHL reffing brings to the game compared to the other major league sports.

Glad the Sens won't turn into a sideshow.
If Steve Apostolopoulos and his group are declared the winning bidders for the Ottawa Senators, that hockey club might still turn into a sideshow.

TSN 1200 Ottawa speculated today that if Steve Apostolopoulos and his group become the new owners of the Ottawa Senators, former NHLer Nick Kypreos might be appointed as the team's new President of Hockey Operations.

Here is an Ottawa Sun news article from April 2023 which mentions former NHLer Nick Kypreos' potential involvement with Steve Apostolopoulos and his group.

There’s a new twist to the sale of the Ottawa Senators, and it includes a former NHL heavyweight.

League sources confirmed to Postmedia Monday that Toronto-based billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos and representatives of his group were at the Canadian Tire Centre Saturday night to watch the club’s 3-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs in front of a sellout crowd of 20,057.

A familiar face that didn’t go unnoticed at the rink Saturday was former NHLer Nick Kypreos. The former Hockey Night in Canada analyst sat in a 100-level box with Apostolopoulos’ group, and was seen touring the building with them during the day.

It’s not known what role the 56-year-old Kypreos has, but he would bring a strong wealth of knowledge to the table. He played 11 years in the league, won a Stanley Cup in 1994 with the New York Rangers, had a role in the NHL Players’ Association and is a respected analyst.

Kypreos is missed on Saturday’s HNIC panel with host Ron MacLean, but has a daily podcast on the Leafs with Justin Bourne on the sports-radio station The Fan 590.

Apostolopoulos is the managing partner of the Triple Group of Companies, a commercial real estate firm located in Toronto. He also is the founder of Six Ventures, a private equity fund that manages more than $5 billion, and attended Harvard University.

From the team that hired Pierre McGuire.

The more things change...

Well it's certainly not buying the team Doubt he made even 1m in his playing career.

However, if he is on it hopefully that means they kick him off the game panels and that podcast.

A person who went an entire series without a goal has now become some people's Conn Smythe favourite in 3 games.
3 games ? What about the Bruins series ? He has 19 points in 15 games, +12 including 3 OT goals. So no goals vs Leafs gives him 7 in 10 games vs Boston and Carolina (the #1 and #2 seeds). Who is a better candidate for Conn Smythe ?? Bob, Eichel, Hintz ?

I thought we were all ignoring the first round of the playoffs this year? Or maybe it's just Toronto teams that only use stats from the series they lose.

If we are counting what happens in the first round too maybe we shouldn't trade Auston Matthews for future considerations. That 5g 4a in 6 games looks pretty good.

In fact if he did that in each series he's set an all time record for most goals in a single playoffs. No one has ever score 20.

The conversation I was in was not restricted to round 1.

I'm not trading Matty unless he says he wants out, even though he was MEH vs Florida.
