Basically

"Connor McDavid is the best player on the planet and he saw it hit the stick therefore it clearly is a high stick because the best player on the planet Connor McDavid said so"

3 games in McDavid has ZERO even strength goals and ZERO evenstrength points

I'm happy to see Los Angeles won it in OT but that 3rd period was a well played game by Edmonton. They had the ice titled but Korpisalo stood tall. Always liked him, he seems to have a bit of that playoff money goalie quality to him.

oilers were running interference all over the place. Refs decided not to call it until they had had enough and decided to call the stupidity of Kostin

What do you guys think? Does it touch his stick?

IMO following factors have to be taken into account:

1) If it was high stick it wasn't intentional the puck just rode up
2) It had no impact on the play; Eklholm was all over him; Nurse was a moron who turned his back to moore leaving him wide open
3) If you are going to use tech to micromanage plays then you do it for "all" the plays; not just "some" plays to be fair IMHO

I'm hoping LA finishes them up soon. McDavid has a season for the ages, and does zero in the playoffs. You just hate to see it.

I have seen some Leaf fan cringe but this has been next level coping by the Oilers faithful.

Maybe just go and skate past the slowest team in the playoffs with your "2020 MVP" and "Greatest player in the world"

I still don't think any video has conclusive 100% evidence that the stick and pick made contact. But really it was a legit goal, to call back a goal on such flimsy contact goes against the spirit of the game. Is this the kind of thing we want to carry the day? A glance off a stick/a glove/a skate. Play the damn game, reverse the egregious and obvious infractions but to spend 10 minutes looking and praying for the "good" camera angle kills the game. Edmonton, you didn't get jobbed - you lost because your players made some terrible in game decisions and couldn't stay out of the box. Try and play well enough that a micro glance of a puck off of a stick doesn't decide your entire fate. I mean really now, you have the 2 best players on the planet, surely they can put things out of reach so the refs and the league can't interfere with your inherent right to the cup.

The greatest player ever to play hockey saw that it was high stick so it has to be a high stick even after 7 minutes of review - Woody.

I havent been paying a ton of attention to the Oilers high stick situation, but doesnt it make contact with Ekholm negating it either way?

Korpisalo quietly creeping along with his career .938 playoff save% while everyone talks about other things...
So crazy he had back to back seasons un the .800's then puts up these numbers this year and into the playoffs. Guy knows how to turn it on

It's a possession thing under the rules so it wouldnt matter.

....so its strictly did he touch it or not. If he did touch the puck, the Oilers got screwed hard.

I think it all goes against the spirit of the rule myself anyways but it is what it is.

Columbus is a tire fire so it's hard to judge any goalie there.

Playing behind a team with structure and a 1-2 punch of Kopitar/Danault for defensive centers? Put a little spring in his step for sure.

There is some possession language, but I could read it either way, so thanks.

We're told routinely that it's too bad and it's the playoffs when calls go against us, so hopefully Oiler fans aren't expecting a lot of cards and flowers in the mail over this.

Though it was like when a delayed penalty is called and it it just hits a body of the penalized team and it isnt blown dead until possession. Not sure if there are different rules for high sticks though?

What a mess lol.
