I'm happy to see Los Angeles won it in OT but that 3rd period was a well played game by Edmonton. They had the ice titled but Korpisalo stood tall. Always liked him, he seems to have a bit of that playoff money goalie quality to him.

McDavid would have lost his shit but he continued to play and after the goal he was going off to the dressing room.

Also none of the Oilers players raised their hand or ran to the ref to cry.

It was not conclusive. Period.

Vilardi's stick was on a different plane than the puck, never touched the puck.

He's an underrated goalie who needed to leave Columbus to get some proper recognition

I told Oiler fans I had a feeling they’d get korpisalo’d just like we did and they basically told me to shut up…. They don’t realize how tilted the goaltending matchup is…

He's an underrated money goalie who meshes well with a gritty team in front, as we've seen. If LA chooses to tighten it up and play the shell game, Edmonton is going to have a challenge breaking in.

Must also be kind of different playing LA. They even look different on the broadcast having so many RHD on the back end starting the transition game.

I'm torn, because it's actually nice to see players call out how terrible the leagues reffing is, on the other hand it's the Oilers so lol

Also, if Matthews acted and talked like McDavid did with the refs, he'd be absolutely lambasted for it, but McDavid won't get even chiding from the hockey media

McDavid looking frustrated is a fun sight to see. Though he almost won it for Edmonton with a little ball hockey flip to the corner on the short side with a few seconds remaining. Korpisalo read that well and just shrugged the shoulders to stop it. Otherwise would have been a cheeky finish to a very hard fought game.

Anyone else catch Matthew Tkachuk's attempt at a Michigan goal vs Boston? Came reasonably close to pulling it off and I think it was still 1-0 or 2-1 at the time. That would have been a dagger.

I think its likely it hit the stick, but there is not 100% clear evidence that it did, so call on the ice stands.

I see this as no difference than Tampa's goal in game 1 that was tough to call if it fully crossed the line or not. Too close to call so gotta go with what they said on the ice.

What do you guys think? Does it touch his stick?

It 100% touched the stick it's not even a question.

But like everyone said to us, the refs can't decide a game and good teams play through controversy. Edmonton needs to be better and they certainly can be. They need to stop with the shenanigans and play THEIR game which they haven't done in 3 games so far.

Basically

"Connor McDavid is the best player on the planet and he saw it hit the stick therefore it clearly is a high stick because the best player on the planet Connor McDavid said so"

Yes. Connor McDavid, the biggest diver on the planet, obviously saw it hit the stick therefore...
