Can someone tell me what the point of NHL reffing is?

The reffing has been absolutely abysmal these playoffs. They call cheap ticky-tack calls which aren't even penalties, yet miss blatant calls.

I get that the game is so fast moving it's tough to catch everything, but these games have been terrible to watch with piss poor flow to them.

Its insane how in one game you have refs letting shit like this go, but then in another game you got Schenn getting a cross checking penalty for merely shoving a dude in front of the net. NHL reffing is like a box of chocolates, you never know what youre going to get.

I think a team like would've been better off starting on the road. Seems like they got rattled after every goal against

The rangers have too much experience, skill, size, poise, veteran savvy and grit for the devils. New Jersey is a young talented but naive team. They will have to learn painful lessons about playoff hockey before getting to the next level.

They remind me of the 17-18 leafs. A young up and coming team with high level skill and speed but soft and lacking physicality/grit/playoff experience/defensive commitment.
