I am pretty confident McDavid can win a round or 2 all by himself.

He kind of proved it last year.
Would not surprise me if they go further than the Leafs again this year. Some Leaf fans will complain cause the Oilers seen to live rent free in their heads.

Hyman out last night which could explain why he was invisible against the Leafs.

They should rest him up for the playoffs ... Leafs know what happens this time of year with Hyman.
So is Freddie in net in Carolina now?

This is interesting:

So who's your starter in the playoffs?

Wouldn’t surprise me if they went to the final, depending on their path.
Who do the Oilers look to face in round one?

Guys, I am afraid to tell you this but the Bruins are no longer a good team.

They just blew a third period lead to the worst roster I've seen on ice in a long, long time (worse than Arizona as they at least have Keller).

There is a high possibility that the Oilers go farther than the Leafs.

Let's be real, if the Leafs make it to the SCF it would be one of the toughest roads to the SCF in a long, long time. They have recent 2x champs, Boston who is having a historic season and then probably Carolina (I don't think Svechnikov injury changes the fact that they're just a better team than NJ and NY).

Oilers road consists of teams that are all below the Leafs in the standings. Their hardest opponent is probably Dallas or Colorado if they meet them.

No one in their own division is stopping them.

In contrast, Colorado faced 3 absolutely garbage goalies in the Western Conference before beating a Tampa team without Brayden Point.

The Leafs have had plenty of easy roads (the year Columbus beat them, the year the Habs beat them etc) and they failed to take advantage so this is all on them. Have to beat the best to be the best (at least for the Leafs this season).

Shame we may not see playoff warrior Brady Tkachuk in action in the playoffs. Maybe Pierre will have another summer this year...
Brady won a poll over Marner like a month ago lol. I get hating the Leafs - it's tribal, it's an easy path for acceptance in the hockey world. But it shouldn't lower your IQ by 60 points.

Anyone would win a poll over Marner on this stupid site. People rag on his $11.5M and playoff record, but Brady makes over $8M himself, with less results. Sens fans crow about his leadership. I've yet to see it.

The Oilers 3 most likely 1st Round opponents are:

Vegas, Dallas, and LA who have 90, 87, and 87 points respectively.

Lightning have 86. Obviously they have the history but let's not pretend the Leafs are facing an impossible juggernaut in the first round while the Oilers get to play some garbage team (not really directed at you, more in general to those complaining about matchups)

Dallas is a good Team but it's no secret that the West is weaker than the East.

Absolutely it is no argument there, but as far as first round opponent goes Oilers and Leafs are looking at playing comparable opponents.
If they are weaker, how are they comparable?

Yep people complaining about division match ups also neglect to mention that our path would either be the same ( lightning/ bruins)

Or worse where we'd have the rangers round one.

We've gotten great match ups in the past and still been bombed out

There is no chance that a team like Dallas, LA or Vegas is comparable to Tampa. Sorry. They could be a wild card team and that would still hold true.

It's not excuses, it's fact. If you got to pick your opponent, Tampa would be the last team Boston would pick. That should tell you just how good they are.

No team in the entire league has beaten a healthy Tampa team since Columbus swept them. Brayden Point is arguably their best player, certainly the most rounded and he played 2 games against Colorado last year while clearly being injured.

Tampa is the last team in the NHL I want to play in the playoffs

Dallas isn't even in the top 5 of hardest possible opponents

Boston, NYR, Carolina, Tampa, NJ, Dallas, Colorado, Vegas, Oil, Winnipeg, LA, Minny, NYI, Pittsburgh, Seattle for me.

I'm betting the Rangers get it together before the playoffs start.

Ullmark, Shesterkin, Vasi, Ott, Sorokin, Helley can win a series on their own.

Kings have always given the Oilers a hard time.
They did last year until Connor decided he wanted it more.
