I'm actually shocked with Vancouver's bad start.

They were horrendous in the first half of last year but under BB in the second half they were a totally different team, showing their potential and almost climbing into a WC spot.

I thought they would definitely be pushing hard in that weak division. But wow. I mean you can't make the playoffs in October but you can dig yourself a deep hole early that makes hard to get out of.

And after an off-season promoting culture change, shopping big names, but not making any moves .. Oh boy.

Buffalo has had a strong start to the year nearly every year for the past five years it seems. Somewhere around game 10-15 the wheels have come off the bus though. We shall see if they finally break that pattern this year.

Insane amount of goals early this year. Every games seems to have a team putting up 5.

Except for the Leafs. They cap it at 3.

Preds completly fell apart in the third. They couldn't hardly muster a shot on net.

Division is going to be a dogfight this year. That's great if we rise to the challenge, I think it only makes us more prepared.

Top 5 and bottom 5 worst D numbers so far this season:

Lowest xGA:
1. Devils
2. Leafs
3. Avs
4. Blues
5. Knights

Fewest shots against/60:
1. Devils
2. Leafs
3. Hurricanes
4. Flames
5. Avs

Worst xGA:
28. Ducks
29. Oilers
30. Islanders
31. Coyotes
31. Lightning

Most shots against/60:
28. Pens
29. Oilers
30. Coyotes
31. Ducks
32. Sabres

Some interesting numbers there for sure. The Devils sparkling defensive numbers and the fact the Bolts are looking abysmal without their rock McDonough back there on D this season the most eye opening so far.

some drama brewing in florida - kucherov rides barkov into the boards from 'behind' - light play as barkov turned at the same time kucherov initiates but head kinda compacts into the boards - leaves the ice under his own power but leaves game

kucherov with his signature - hands up at his sides

lame hit - but it's kucherov

Are the winners St Louis, San Jose, LA?
Losers are Montreal, Florida and Edmonton.

I'd say losers are Detroit and whoever that is between Calgary and Winnipeg.

Montreal colours are just wrong. There are several I just can't place: the first one (beside Montreal), the very centre, and the one between Canes and Hawks.

No winners. Kings and Seattle are ok.

Wierd start to the season. Aside from maybe 3 teams, everyone has had an average or worse start.
Yeah its been a funny start to the season for a lot of teams. It's why I always have to go... okay 15 to 20 games and then you kinda know where teams are really at.

There will definitely be a few of these "world beaters" that are going to fade hard.

Also some good teams that will really pick it up... looking at you... Leafs... and I think they will forsure.

I just love that the Leafs are still .600 with their top players playing well below where they should and their two losses were to basement teams that barely were able to beat us.

It is one thing to lose, but Colorado deserved to lose by a lot more than just one goal today.
