I think the leafs broke you lol, you used to be so much more confident, I guess these playoff loses can break any ones spirit, I had tampa in 4 last year, this year im going leafs in 6! might even give the head a shave, and shave after every game, just to try to reverse the curse!

Yeah they really did lol, the Montreal series was specifically where I hit my breaking point. That was a terrible year and I looked forward to a decent playoff run, all for them to instead give us the worst loss in franchise history lmao. I still love them and watch every game (this is a disease I swear), but I can't pick them in a series. Not when they've let us down time and time again

I hope you're right and we win in 6! If we get the monkey off our back the league needs to watch out, the mental hurdle is the biggest problem we face

It's all mental for sure. Just need to look at how they play top teams vs weaker teams. During the terrible October, I mentioned if mentally they were finally done from the playoff losses. Honestly thats how I felt they were playing but good on them to bounce back.
Also Leafs should have won game 6. I will continue to say this. They were playing an excellent third before we know what happened with the refs.

Great Habs team, and also a lot less parity back then. OT and SO don't allow for an exact comparison, but 8 of 18 teams failed to win at least 30 games in 76-77, while 5-6 of 32 are projected to do that this season.

This is my biggest worry about playing Tampa. On the flipside I've also seen Samsonov allowing back breaking goals in the playoffs.

Just gotta figure that for once it works out in the Leafs favour.

This is why I prefer them actually starting on the road. Think they'd have a bit less pressure especially if they lost the first game.

I know the playoffs are different, but neither team has been great on the road, especially Tampa. Hopefully Leafs get home ice and win those first two at home this time

They don't have many decent assets to sell unless guys with another year left are in play. Lindholm, Toffoli, Tanev, Hanifin, etc.

They're rounding back into form and Landeskog isn't even back yet. Once he's ready to play they're going to be very dangerous. Curious to see what Sakic has up his sleeve and if he'll upgrade the 2C spot.

IMO, he’s the best of all time.

I'm not saying he won't end up the best of all time, but right now it would be a hard sell.


On a side note, no love for Ovi? Being the best goal scorer of all time and likely to beat Gretzky's all-time record.

Majority of them in the off season couldnt stop talking about his .914sv% and 31 wins. They just ignored every Leaf fan that said he was winning because of the Leafs, and not his play. They said it couldn't get worse than Koskinen, boy were they wrong.
