GDT: Around the League - 2021/22

VGK IMO. They traded for Eichel, then made moves on the TDL

Jets are crap anyway IMO
 
Price didn't have to do much in his season debut. No chance on the 3 on 0 (lol) goal and the other was a nice shot by Dobson

As for Florida, Huberdeau and Giroux look deadly together. Nightmares for the opposition if Huberdeau and Barkov are on separate lines in the playoffs.

i only caught a bit of it and when I did it was just not even close tbh lol. I genuinely was very happy they received a team but the strong hate for the leafs so suddenly really just made it like ah...well you know what ill just stay away from you guys. Guess they just wanted to belong so they just did what everyone else does with no history...

Im glad Sasha is getting some attention after such a long time, legit feels like he is this conference's kopitar. Those who watch love the crap out of him but the market he is at he is just not talked about as much.

I get a lot of the vitirol as normal rivalries , but holy these boards of the other Canadian teams have gone off the charts. I have listened to a lot of sports radio across the country for years because I can while I work and it’s been mostly fun anti Toronto nonsense but lately it’s been viscous. The hatred towards Toronto in general and Matthews in particular is psychotic. Even shows I normally enjoy like Melnicks afternoon show in Montreal are over the top friggin nutty, they say theyre kidding but they ain’t. If a Toronto station ever went after a Hab like that they would demand a government inquiry.lol

Who would have thunk it that they are even worse than Vancouver now with the way the Canucks started the year...Maurice is smarter than I thought to quit on the Jets when he did.
 
Clearly I’m not a Montréal Canadiens fan, not even a Carey Price fan, but I’m happy for him that he’s gotten over his injuries. Battling any sort of mental issues is never any fun. I’ve battled depression before for several years, so I can only hope that he’s getting all of the treatment and support that he could ever need. Clearly he loves to play hockey, so I hope he has as much joy as he can with however many games he plays the season. Definitely one of the best goaltenders of the last 25 years. That’ll be the last positive thing I say about anything pertaining to Montreal. Lol

in other news, I will however laugh at Winnipeg for continuing to fall further and further down in the standings. I’m not bitter about their backstage celebration in the locker room back in December, but it’s definitely hilarious watching them lose to us so decisively and then watching their playoff hopes disappear before their very eyes. Winnipeg has some of the most annoying fans in all of hockey, so it couldn’t happen to a better group of people as far as I’m concerned.

It's a barometer for how good the Leafs look. You can sense the collective sphincter of Anti-Leaf Nation tighten. If we actually turn in a great PO performance in the 1st round the panic will rise along with the vulgarity of the insults. And Christ if we go deep they'll be apoplectic.
