Don't worry I'm there too lol.

I look at the replay and it's pretty amazing but if one guy plays the body that play dies. Yes he's very fast but 4 guys just watched.

I'm not salty about McDavid. Fantastic player.

I'm salty about so many Oiler fans being straight up ignorant to any other teams in the league... or other good players.

Yup McDavid is the best but you can't be so blind... without him and Drai they'd be dogshit.

Without McDavid and Drai we'd be dog shit? No kidding you don't say. But we'd also have 21M dollars to spend on other players. Tired take. Take any teams two best players away and that's likely the case with the exception of maybe Tampa.

For the record fans do appreciate other players. Matthews is one of the best scorers in the league, Campbell is playing great, Marner is a heck of a talent. To me it sounds like you are projecting your own insecurities but oh well

Bit of a faux pas innit

You do you bud.

It's a funny thing you mention insecurities though.

Considering you came on to another teams board to defend your own team... that seems a bit insecure.

By the way...

Leafs without Matthews... 25-14-2
Leafs without Marner... 6-9-2

Oilers without McDavid... 18-21-9
Oilers without Draisaitl... 20-32-7

So 31-23-4

Or

38-53-16

I don't know seems like a larger gap somewhere...

Yeah but it's super unlucky to have on a #2 and a #1 in back to back drafts

True. Though looking at the Oilers a few years ago, Yak and RNH was definitely not a great back to back 1st overalls for them even though RNH ended up as a serviceable player

Man I remember RNH just exploded onto the scene, flirted with ppg as a very slight 18yo rookie, then got that season ending injury, and has just been very OK ever since. I'm not saying it ruined his career, but I do wonder.

He might've finally decided to stop working out with his brother and finally hired a pro trainer lmao

Good news Carolina finally lose a game and are now 9-1-0 n their 1st 10 games, but the bad news it was Florida who are now 10-0-1 in their first 11 games.

What a start by both these teams this season.

It's really strange how unimpressive Kakko and Lafrenière are looking in NY.
They are worse when you watch them live.
Saw them against the Nucks the other night and both of them are not noticeable at all, Kakko plays a bit more physical but Laf is really invisible.
On the other hand, Fox is amazing.

Depends on the year, it could very well be Eichel and AM. Right away, you get your two 1C kind of like Pens with Sid and Malkin.

That Rangers rebuild sure is memey.

They had Hank for 20 years, immediately after he goes they have Shesterkin(?) to take his place.

They sign Trouba to a huge deal (note: he makes more than Rielly, post extension) expecting him to be their franchise D, and he's now currently a #3 - the same as the guy they traded for him with a 1st.

But it's okay - they found this kid who only wanted to play for them and got him for a second. Last year is the only Norris Trophy he's ever going to win but he still has one.

This should move things along - 2019 2nd overall and 2020 1st overall picks, sweet!

The 2nd was Kakko, who's worse than Kotkaniemi and was basically the bigger kid who can skate fast who you used to play with when you were young.

I'm aware he was drafted out of Liiga, but let's not act like playing in a third-rate men's league when you're just a 6'3 200 17 year old kid is some sort of achievement.

Look at that 2019 draft and the players taken 3-10, who don't you pick ahead of him? Maybe Broberg, and that's about it.

Lafreniere, 67-15-10-25 is piss poor for even an undersized 1st overall, and Laf is 6'2 195. I bet Mitch would have spiked those numbers if he came up 2015-16.

I don't think they were expecting to get Eichel-Matthews, but they probably expected more than Bennett-Zacha or RNH-Drouin.

Your top picks, especially your 1-3 overall picks, aren't guys who you draft and let develop for 3-4 years - they're ready now, or next year. And they don't need to 'improve their game' - they play and process the game at the pro level already. Kakko and Lafreniere are still young, but I don't have a lot of hope.

...but it's okay, because Panarin is a franchise winger and wants to come here, so get him!

No center? No problem! Let's just have the middle-six center we got for a song develop into an above average #1 center in this league. You want to win you need to do better at #1C than Zibanejad, but he's still the 12th-18th best C in the game.

But is it ok? Zib and Panarin are 28 and 30, both have years left, and players come out of nowhere all the time (Zib and Panarin...).

Their D and G are set, but now I think they're too good to properly scoop up those elite forwards - 95% of the game's elite forwards came in the top five picks of the draft.

Doesn't help when their 2017 and 2018 top 10 picks struggled as well.

They could have been a really amazing team... But their drafting has been generally deplorable considering the amount of picks they had.

At least they hit on some major trades and Shestyorkin, or else they would likely need another rebuild before getting anywhere.

Don't forget trading a 1st and a defenceman that is arguably better than Trouba for Trouba. Also don't forget drafting Andersson 7th overall - big miss, and Kravstov 8th overall (might not be a miss, but now wants out after not making the team).

Oilers beat the Rangers backup goalie 6-5 in OT, and needed a supergoal to even make it that far.

Flames beat the Rangers 6-0, and the most surprising thing I saw in the game was that Lucic has already scored four goals this year.

Not impressed by Kakko or Laf, and the only noticeable thing about Fox was how he blew coverage on both Gaudreau goals.

I wouldn't be surprised if Calgary wins that division. Even with their killer PP, Edmonton has been in tough against everyone but Arizona, whereas Calgary started slow, but has shut down the Rags (twice), Pittsburgh, and Philly.

If Edmonton's PP starts to struggle, they may be in trouble.
