Crazy schedule. I guess they're waiting on the new arena to be finished.I think you have to wait for the Isles to play a home game or 2 before you write them off. Starting the season on a 13 game road trip isn't likely to go well for many teams.

-24 thru 16 games, it's almost unbelievable.Jakob Chychrun has played the 16th most even-strength minutes in the NHL this year and has a GF% of 4%.
Eh, he's being thrown to the wolves on arguably the worst team in the past 15 years.-24 thru 16 games, it's almost unbelievable.
That has to be due to playing for the tanking and talentless Coyotes team for the most part right?Jakob Chychrun has played the 16th most even-strength minutes in the NHL this year and has a GF% of 4%.

Past two years where they were mediocre he played good hockey being a top 4D consistently and even a top pairing D last year.
He's been terrible but he probably has no motivation to play when the on ice product sucks, he has no goals towards winning, and he's already being paid decent money.
He's a guy I'd trade for if we were to move Muzzin in the offseason
Thirteen game road trip.Isles will be fine once they start playing at home. I don't think it's a coincidence they started fine then faded at the end of a ~15 game road trip.
They have 3 first rounders and 5 second rounders next year, and will add to that at the deadline. They also only have 5 players signed with 50 million in cap space for next year. It will be interesting how they approach trade deadline and offseason. With that cap space and trade capital they could make some huge moves in the offseason.I wouldn't be surprised if it did, although you'd have to compare him to his peers to see how well/bad they are doing in comparison. The Coyotes are the worst assembled team in the last 30 years. That team sucks bad and it was intended to suck this bad. At this rate I'm not sure any of their available players have any value outside of a handful... Chychrun is one of them.

They better start putting their potential picks through a combine as quickly as possible, get a head start with all those picks.Acquiring all those picks is a great way to start a rebuild for sure. I hope they added scouts and are really working hard there to make the right picks. Their trade deadline should basically be about taking the best deals out of any pending free agent they have with the mindset of being able to take on salary going into next season so that they can have more players to flip and also easier to reach the salary cap floor.
I'd say all they have to do going into next season is to keep selling players and taking on short-term contracts that they can re-flip. Start building the foundation and then add your layers.
They are probably 2 or 3 years away from trending upwards. Those picks and prospects will develop and will likely take over that team --- assuming they picked good players.
Tons of crap players on bad contracts =/= good depthOMG. Montreal are miles better than Vegas. And to think people laugh at Montreal having no depth.
