The Jacobs effect .. Frustrating to see year over year. No idea how the schedulers can always seem to have the Bruins have a few games in hand so early in the year.
They will play 82 like everyone else by the end. What advantage does this give them? If anything I'd think you'd rather play more early in the season and have a lighter schedule later on.

McDavid saving the Oilers again. Such an average team carried by 2 players.
I watched the game after the leafs game...and yea pretty much. the jets were the better team still. I know its blasphemous since Hyman is well loved here and there, but I still think its primarily just the two of Draisalt and Mcdavid.

I wanna like the oilers because of those two and i am a massive man of Draisalt but I just can't... The only reason IMO they won last night was aside from the usual suspects of Leon and Connor, was their goalie was playing out of his MIND. He legit went Patrick Roy and saved every powerplay shot lol and jets powerplay was on fire.

They probably should, he'd be a great coach over what they currently have. I'm not much of a Babcock fan either, not anymore anyway.

The Habs won't hire a non bilingual coach though. It's a dumb old tradition they won't ever let go.
I'd bet he speaks some French.

But won’t that make the Bruins play more the rest of the season? So how’s that an advantage?

Well this year anyway Rask will likely be back for the end of season stretch. I know he’s technically a free agent but he loves Boston despite how some fans and media have treated him.

Bet my buddy $100 Habs would miss the playoffs. Smoke and mirrors on their run.. now their back into one of the better divisions in hockey as a mediocre team. every 5-10 years we get a team like Habs/New Jersey who go on an insane run then fizz out following year.

Habs suck, garbage organization.

He can tell the refs which team to hurt long before they have to play those make up games.

Like normal with the NHL.

YOu are assuming Rask will be back to his top level after such a long layoff. On top of that, players in front of him will be playing more games in a short period than others.

apparently Bowness blamed it on the assistant coach
Riley Tufte's healthy scratch by Stars still confusing, despite explanation from coach Rick Bowness - The Athletic

No matter what happened in the game, how badly the Stars lost or how big the win, simply taking that first shift was guaranteed to be a dream-come-true moment for Tufte.

Until it wasn’t.

Tufte was a healthy scratch, with Joel Kiviranta slotting in for him on the fourth line. The optics certainly looked bad, with Tufte having a two-day buildup all the way into the afternoon of game day that his big dream was about to come true. And then he was scratched. Bowness explained his decision after the game.

“It’s a big ask for him to go into a big game like today,” Bowness said. “Kivi was out a couple of games, we wanted to get some speed and some energy from him. Riley hasn’t played very much, he’s only played four minutes one night and seven minutes the last (game). That’s a tough ask to put him in those situations. He’ll be back in there the next time we come into Minnesota. At some point, he’ll play here but tonight we wanted to put a little more speed in the lineup and Kivi sat out a couple (games) and he got the call.”

Bowness was asked when he let Tufte know and he said that decision materialized in the afternoon when Bowness got to the rink. There were a few game-time decisions, which Bowness had mentioned after the optional skate in the morning, that were available to play.

“When I got to the rink tonight, the lineup changed,” Bowness said. “Riley was in, as of this morning. And then when I got to the rink, (Stars athletic trainer) Dave (Zeis) told me that we had a couple of guys that we didn’t expect to play, to play so we had to make a quick call there.”

Would Bowness have liked to let Tufte know earlier?

“Yeah, but I couldn’t,” Bowness shrugged. “When we left here this morning, he was playing. So, I can’t do anything about that. I get here at 4 o’clock, they’re telling me, these guys are in now. Changed everything. This morning, Riley was playing. I can’t do anything about that.”

Living in Ottawa...I have no clue why Bowness was hired by anyone....
Exactly. The fact that they lost 7-2 just shows how out of touch Bowness is.

if I am a Stars players, I might just do the Rudy thing and lay a jersey on the coaches desk.

Let's take a moment and laugh at some more main board stupidity

Clayton Keller vs William Nylander

J.Drouin vs C.Keller vs W.Nylander
The first one is from two years ago, and the other is from three years ago, both based on a player having had one good season. One thread resurrected now by a gloating Leafs fan. No idea how you managed to even find a thread closed three years ago.

If anything, they should be pointed out to Rangers fans as a cautionary tale against their insane hyping of Fox.
