3-1 series lead blown by the Penguins to one of the worst teams in the playoffs

Pens were dealing with injuries to key players this series and had to play a third string sieve for most games.

If anything this looks worse on the Rangers.

Keefe is not really in charge of special teams, and a lot of it came down to execution. At 5-on-5, which is what Keefe is in charge of, I felt like he outcoached Cooper. Our PK wasn't actually that bad, considering how much work they had and some 5-on-3's that they had to face. There were also some lucky bounces that went Tampa's way on the PP. But 14% is not good enough on the PP, and our guys did not execute even when looks were generated. That being said, Carolina was able to win with worse.

Some guys were just not sharp and it got even worse where they started forcing things. Even when we had space, there were some really bad misses. These guys know how to win. They just need to do it.

Liljegren should have been in there over Lyubushkin, but Holl was good in that series. Ultimately not a decision that I think cost them the series though.

The series came down to one team being able to marginally execute better than the other. One excellent and deserving team was going to lose. It just so happened to be us. Again.

I agree with you here except on the PP. Thats 3 assistant coaches with Keefe as coach where PP fell apart in the playoffs so you have to look at the head coach there. Not saying to fire him because I think he's a good coach. Thought he coached well in the series. Only letting him go if an upgrade wants to come.

So Panarin scores on the powerplay in overtime to eliminate the Pens...I guess refs do hand out penalties in overtime in the playoffs, unless it's Killorn riding Matthews' jersey across the rink like he's waterskiing.

Let's get real. They're moving on because they got to play against Domingue for most of the series. If they play the Lightning like we did and we get a Pens team forced to ice their 3rd string goalie we'd be moving on and they'd lose to Tampa in 5.

Pens had 5 PPs in the regulation compared to 3 for the Rangers that included a shorty by the pens.

Rangers found a way to beat the pens. No victim mentality. No excuses. Period!

Looking at Rangers move the puck in OT on the PP; no cute BS; straight up move the puck take the shot. Panarin usually a passer shoots to win it for the rangers. Winners want the puck on their stick to win it for their team. Pissed me off to no end the kind of shit the 50% of the cap pull on the PP with the cute BS in the playoffs. Absolutely pathetic

Good for them and 2 of them was when they added Kessel? Were they not good enough before?

Our core was really good this series but ran into an elite team.
People have this fantasy vision that you break up the core and Leafs will improve. It doesn't work like that. Some Leafs fans want the Nonis era sadly.
